Vehicle Detail

Known word wide as one of the most rugged and reliable 4WD vehicles on the planet, the Toyota Land Cruiser is becoming a sought after, all around outdoor adventure. This particular truck was never built to win the first in show (it does look good though!) but it was built to handle week long trips to the mountains of NW Wyoming and Montana without worrying about mechanical issues. This truck is a 1973 FJ with just over 2000 miles on the rebuilt 1F motor and 3 speed transmission. While the motor and trans were out, both axels were gone through to ensure reliability for years to come. To help get this Cruiser “longer legs” on the highway, a Fairy Overdrive system was installed into the drive train (over $3500 invested in this alone!). The overdrive basically doubles the gear ratio for all 4(1,2,3,R) gears….6 speed?? The OD increased this cruisers top highway speed from 65ish to 78ish MPH. The Toyota 416 Dune Beige paint done in June 2011 was meant more to protect the skin of this truck more than it was to put it on a showroom somewhere. There are a few runs and the pre-paint body work shows in a couple areas, but even I was surprised at how great this baby looked after it was complete. I’ve witnessed people almost trip on the sidewalk turning their neck to get a better look! The Goodyear Authority A/T tires have about 50 miles on them. This Cruiser drives straight and true. It has original drum brakes on all 4 wheels and stops just fine. The front brakes were replaced in April; the rears did not need replacement at the time of the inspection. All of the lighting inside and outside of the cruiser works. The engine runs strong and smooth, no issues. There is just way too much great to list about this awesome truck so I’ll move to the needs. The windshield has a crack that is hard to see in the pics. The passenger side seat has a 4 inch tear that I covered with a fab tape to keep it from tearing further. I personally didn’t believe it was worth replacing for such a tear. Recently the oil sending unit gave up and no longer reads pressure. Quick and easy fix. The AMP gauge has a short, snapped off needle. You can still read the gauge you just have to look down on it. The pass side turn signal housing has a small crack. It doesn’t affect its performance so it was never replaced. Recently, the truck has started dripping a small amount of 80wt oil around the transfer case seal. Its only about 8-10 drops per day only after being driven, but needs to be mentioned. I have never tried to hook up the radio so I dont know if it works or not. I have several spare or new parts that will be included in the auction including; New front door weather seals, a long range fuel tank, a spare tire and wheel (same wheel just not painted, and different brand tire), dust cover, lights and misc parts, and rear heater and connecting hoses. For the rest I think the pictures will speak for themselves. Please email with any questions and I will gladly answer as soon as I can. Pre bid inspections are always welcome. Shipping or pickup is the responsibility of the winning bidder but I will help in any way I can. The cruiser is to be sold as is and I reserve the right to end the auction early as it is advertised via many outlets.
