Vehicle Detail

This car is from the estate of a well known Lincoln collector. It was his personal pride and joy. It's a 1980 Lincoln Mark VI coupe. It is unique in the fact that it has "convertible" on the build tag but it's not a convertible. It doesn't have opera windows in the C pillars, which I understand is quite rare. It is a 351W engine with an AOD and all power accessories. The 351W was only offered in the 1980 Mark VI, which also makes this car rare. This car was extensively restored with no expense spared at some point in the past several years. The odometer says 97K which I'm sure is original to the car, I'm fairly certain the engine was rebuilt. Everything is perfectly painted, including the exhuast manifold. This is a very nice car that needs little to be absolutely perfect. It currently does not run, I think the variable venturi carburator needs a rebuild. Everything else appears to be perfectly functional. The dash seems to work perfect, as does the power windows, seats and antenna. The car was flawlessly repainted red with a white vinyl top and white leather seats. The seats have some minor signs of use but nothing unbecoming. The carpet is red and I've had a brand new white headliner installed. The tires are like new. The former owner/collector had a few personalized touches such as a 3rd brake light, window tint, and a custom leather wrapped steering wheel. Overall, this is a very nice car with the following flaws. Doesn't run (has spark, compression and timing) Small paint chip on the trunk lid Some minor wear on the white leather This would make a great weekend project car or perhaps a good candidate for an intake and carb upgrade to make it run great. I am offering this car at no reserve, remember, it doesn't run, so it will need to be trailered. I can assist with loading. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 941-720-0300, my name is Jason. I expect full payment within 7 days but I can store it for as long as necessary. On Jul-18-11 at 17:08:53 PDT, seller added the following information: I added photos of the rest of the car. Please look them over carefully. I also want to clarify that I've done all of the diagnostic work on this car, it has correct compression, spark, timing and I have it narrowed down to a fuel delivery problem. Could be something as simple as the fuel pump or as complicated as the VV carburator (although, I hear they are quite easy to rebuild) The ONLY reason I'm selling this car is because my wife and I just opened a store, I just won't have the time to spend to get this car back on the road. In summary. This is a very desirable Mark VI, maybe one of the best in the country and if you are in to these cars, this is the one you need to buy! On Jul-19-11 at 19:57:29 PDT, seller added the following information: A few more things to clarify: This car is not an actual "convertible" it is a hardtop with a convertible style roof treatment. On these cars, it deleted the side opera windows from the factory and installed a very thick vinyl roof. The vinyl roof on this car is flawless. The build tag in the picture was provided as proof of originality. It is not an actual convertible, but it does look like one. This car is not a Bill Blass or any other designer series. It does look a lot like a BB. I also found out from the Lincoln dealer here that it was a very early build Mark VI which is also indicated on the vin sticker on the door. I will include with the car some brand new NOS parts that I got with the estate, air filter, breather, battery cable, and a few other items. The previous owner was a Lincoln fanatic, particularly Mark VI's. He had owned this car for many years and there is a plaque on the dash that says "Restored for Mr. ___________" I will also include three factory service manuals which are what helped me in diagnosing the EEC III system on this car. I also have the owners manual, etc. in the glove box. This car is money in the bank for whoever ends up with it. It's show quality. There is absolutely no rust damage on this car, it's about as close to showroom new as possible.
