Vehicle Detail
For sale: 1976 Datsun 280z with a Ford 302 h.o. and automatic transmission. Body: The car was repainted approximately 1 year ago. The paint and body are in very good condition, weatherstripping and emblems are new. The under-carriage and frame-rails are solid. The body has approximately 38,000 miles on it. Interior: The interior is mostly original and in very good condition. The floors have been insulated and new carpet was installed. Engine: 1989 Ford 5.0 from a Mustang GT. The engine was rebuilt and modified. The carburator, fuel-pump, intake, electronic distributor, water-pump, mini-starter, battery, aluminum radiator, electric fan and alternator are new. The engine has approximately 3,000 miles on it. Transmission: 1989 Ford A.O.D. from a Mustang GT. The transmission was rebuilt and modified. It has a 2,000 r.p.m. stall converter and a shift-kit. A new B/M shifter is installed in the stock center console. The transmission has approximately 3,000 miles on it. Exhaust: Block hugger headers with 2 1/4" custom dual exhaust merging into 3" single exhaust. The exhaust exits in the stock location thru a polished Magna-flo muffler. The car is an excellent driver...it does not overheat, runs great at highway speeds (has overdrive), and handles better then it did with the stock drivetrain. I will provide my phone number to bidders with any questions. I will also assist with shipping however any costs are the buyers responsibility. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding... 7-18-11 : I have been getting alot of repeat questions so I will try and address them. The car does not have air, it never did. There is a lot of extra room in the engine compartment to add an aftermarket system. I would feel comfortable driving it across the county - at 60 mph (per GPS) the engine is at 2,000 rpm in overdrive. Lokar stainless steel cables were used for the throttle and AOD transmission. Fuel lines were replaced with braided stainless steel (larger diameter) and an Edelbrock billet aluminum pump was mounted in the factory location. The brake rotors, calipers, pads, wheel cylinders, brake hardware and brake shoes have been replaced. The steering coupler and rack and pinion bushings were also replaced. All of the lights work - including the back-up lights, dome light and glove box light. Yes...it is very fast. It is a light car with a modified v8. It runs like a 5.0 mustang, with a modified engine, but weights approximately 800 pounds less! Please ask questions, I will provide my phone number to potential buyers.
