Great FJ 40 available. Mechanically sound with stock 4 spd. drivetrain and 2F 6 cyl. engine. Front disc brakes, rear drum brakes and drive shaft drum parking brake, all in excellent condition. Everything works down to the dome light. Front and rear heater, original jack and tool kit in canvas pouch. New Toyota windshield, door, and window rubber in excellent shape. All new door and hard top rubber and gaskets. New headliner (edges still need to be trimmed) and dash. Interior is spray black bed liner with no rust holes or weak spots. Original Toyota factory floor mats are still in the front and rear. All black exterior hinges, wiper motor cover, running boards, and spare tire carrier are powder coated. Engine is in excellent condition, top compression, with new radiator, hoses, and recent battery. Carburetor is not original, it has a 2BBL Rochester that does great and passes smog emissions with it. No oil leaks (7-8 drops on my garage floor in 10 years) and 4X4 drive (filled with synthetic blend gear oil) and hubs, bearings are just fine. Tires are BFG T/A's with 95% tread. New non-USA distributor (I brought it back from Chile) gives it a lot more advance curve and responsive power. There are still a few things that could be done to this FJ 40 to bring it to clean condition. Seats are original, but covered. A seat restoration, front and back would be a nice project. Body has no dents or dings. There is some light rust in the rear near the tail lights where I would replace the panel if it got too bad, but I'm quite particular. Comes with bikini top and all hardware, plus nylon mesh tail gate too. You will be pleased with this vehicle. I have just had it parked in my garage for 10 years and drive it 6-10 times per year, it is time to give it new home with someone who will keep making it better and enjoy it.
