Vehicle Detail
1962 Rambler American two door Custom. 195.6 cubic inch flathead six cylinder engine and three speed automatic transmission. Super straight. Very original. I bought this car earlier this year with the intention of making it a daily driver for myself. I have an automotive blog documenting all of my hobby vehicles, including this Rambler. There is both a PAGE and MANY POSTS for the Rambler linked below: Rambler Blog Page Rambler Blog Posts If you are truly serious about this car, take a few minutes to read the history of this car on my blog. There are MANY photos. I bought the car because of how straight and complete it is. The doors do not sag. All chrome trim and emblems are present, including all of the Rambler "R" pieces, like the hood ornament, driver's mirror, and all four hubcaps. The dash is original and unmolested and still has the original radio. The door panels need to be replaced, as does the carpeting. Realistically, the interior needs to be completely redone. Exterior wise, the only evidence we can find of any body work is that the passenger door has body filler cracks in the center of it. The body was originally a light blue color, but at some point, the exterior was repainted to match the original teal color of the interior. The driver's door lock cylinder is missing, but I did find and will include the necessary bezel needed to install a new lock cylinder. I will include an original owners manual, shop manual, original Oregon Pacific Trail license plates, and an assortment of parts that I have collected that were intended for the restoration. I have four NOS tail light lenses, and misc parts and literature that go with the car. I have not tried to start the engine. I have not tried to turn over the engine. I did put lubricant into the cylinders, but that's as far as I got. The engine oil looks OK. There is no coolant in the radiator. A piece of heater hose was and still is missing since I purchased the car. I do not have a title. I purchased it from a person who never titled it when he bought it years ago, and he lost the title. I do have the license plates and some old registration cards that match the license plates. I will provide bill of sale. This is a project car. There is no warranty expressed or implied. It does not run. You will have to trailer it or tow it away, at your expense. That said, it's a pretty straight example of a really cool little 'ol Rambler. Thanks for looking at my auctions! I have a 1936 International Pickup Rat Rod and a 1979 Jeep DJ-5G also listed. Please take a few minutes and check them out!
