QUESTIONS CALL ME 773 391-3093 IN CHICAGO, IL 1985 Honda VF1000R Interceptor w/ 4780 orig. Mi! Hi i am selling my VF1000R....I have owned this Awesome Motorcycle since Late fall of 2010. I purchased this Low Mileage origional Bike from a Honda Dealer in Michigan that the owner was retirement and selling off the business. In the back of his shop he had a collection of classic motorcycles including this low mileage VF1000R. The owner said to me that the fork seals were recently rebuilt and the oil changed when i purchased it. The motorcycle ran Great. Since i purchased it i have put 1500.00 dollars in the bike. I had my Motorcycle Mechanic who is a Honda Specialist Do Maintainence work. I replaced the Old Origional dry rotted tires. 1. Replaced origional Dry Rotted tires w/ new Bridgestone Battle AX BT45's High speed rated and Balanced. 1 Mi since changed-new. 2. Battery and charging system great shape! 3.Compression testing Great Shape! #1 175psi, #2 178psi, #3 180psi, #4 180psi. Honda recommends 180psi plus or minus 10% so we are in Specifications! 4. New Honda Spark plugs only 1 Mi 5.Air Filter Great Shape! 6.Oil Change with Mobil 1 Full synthetic Motorcycle oil and K/N Heavy duty Filter. 1 Mi since changed. 7 Inspect all wires and Hoses replaced as necessary... 8 Replace brakes Pads Front and Back with EBC Brake Products 1 Mi since changed. 9 Replace Front Head light Bulb 10 Full Carb Clean and Rebuild, Dip....Factory Jetting sync and Carb Adjustments....1 Mi 11 oil chain 12 flush and drain radiator new antifreeze. 1 mi. 13 check and test cooling system fans and relays good-working....1 Mi 14 check valve train no abnormal noises or wear.... 15 test ride steering and tracking excellent!!!! Transmission Shift Fine and Clutch Feels Good.... Plus more..... 16 You will receive a full list of mechanical's performed cost me around 1200.00 plus 300.00 for tires. Bike runs Absolutely Great!!!! I would rate Mechanically out of 1-10 a 10 Body a 9.0 no broken tabs, paint shines well for a 26 year old motorcycle. The only body problem will be so small normal wear scratches on top of tank in blue area can easily be touched up. some small rock chip on lower fairing area easily touched up. The Rear PlasticTail Fairing with the long strip on the back was cracked when i bought the bike. So i looked for a long time and could find only a 1986 plastic assembly in mint condition no broken tabs and paint in great shape. This part apparently gets tabs cracked and is no longer made hard to get. So strip area is off on taillight assembly because 1985 has a slightly different painted strip. You can have this remedy fixed by a painter who could repaint back portion. I will also give you the origional 1985 tail section for comparison and repair if you want. The title is in the Motorcycle shop's name still. It is clear and can be transferd with no problems. I had the bike for about 6 months. Bike is Sold AS IS no Warranty....Comes also with the little manual for the tool box holder no tool set.... This is a excellent opportunity to own a collector quality well taken care of 1985 low Milage VF1000R with full recently serviced. Over 1500.00 put in. Bike is Garaged always..
