Vehicle Detail
This 1986 Suzuki Cavalcade is a reliable, comfortable, affordable (and economical) touring bike similar to the Honda Goldwings of this era. It has a liquid-cooled 1400cc sixteen valve V-4 engine with shaft drive and factory hardbags. This bike also works for "in-town" shopping as the luggage carries an impressive amount of luggage/food/stuff, etc. I have owned and happily used this bike for over six (6) years but an imminent job transfer this fall prompts its sale. This bike starts, runs, rides and stops good. The tires have many miles remaining but the battery is near its end. I will put a new battery in it upon successful sale. All the important details work well . . . the original "fluff" not so much. The original cruise control is not currently working, it could just be dirty/sticky contacts. The original on-board air compressor was removed when I bought it. The original stereo, although working, is in a box and comes with the bike. I have 3 other bikes that compete for my riding time so I have only put on less than 2,000 miles in the past few years. This touring bike is way less expensive then similarly aged Goldwings and it has a great set of "touring legs." It has a 5 speed overdrive transmission. With the combination of the overdrive, the tank holding over 6 gallons of liquid gold and a bike that averages approximately 38 mpg, a ride can easily net over 200 miles between fuel stops. That is a lot of traveling with great economy.
