Vehicle Detail

1970 Pontiac Lemans Sport Convertible Restored Beautiful original matching numbers 350 cu. In. 2 barrel and 3 speed hydromatic (TH-38) automatic transmission. Power top, power brakes, power steering. Let me start by saying this car was a labor of love. I’ve owned this car since 1994. 2 years ago it underwent a 6 month long restoration and less than 2000 have miles have been put on it since to car shows only. Mileage on odometer in 1994 17000 mi. (really 117,000 due to 5 digit odometer), it now reads 58,300. Professional Body, top and paint work ($12,000) This was no Macao $1000.00 paint job. All metal taken off car and everything taken down to bare metal. New quarter panels and rear wheel wells. Painted GM Rally Yellow, same color user on new Corvettes and Camaros. Body has Zero rust on this car! Only body filler used was for smoothing, no patches. Inside of trunk looks brand new. The original jack has even been restored. The engine was pulled and rebuilt by a shop that specializes in Pontiac engines and restorations ($5000.00). The transmission was rebuilt as well ($800.00). Rides and Drives smooth New rear bumper. New convertible top with glass window, new pump cylinders, and new upholstry on windsheild pad. Power top looks and works great. New chrome remote driver side-view mirror, rear view mirror, door handles, rocker panels and sill plates. New fender louvers. New dual exhaust. New brake boost cylinder. New rocker panels, door sill plates, "350" emblems. Much more, over $3000.00 in new parts. Nicely restored original Rally II wheels with chrome trim rings and new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. 2 sets of lug nuts one solid chrome the other with decorative set inset that match center caps. New window sweeps/felts all around. All new seat covers and carpet. Front seats have new foam as well. Rear armrests and convertible wells reupholstered. Flawlessly restored dash by Just Dashes. No rust in the corners of the sill plate at base of windshield which is typical in a lot of these cars. New clear instrument cluster lens. The clock even works! Dash has never been cut for an aftermarket radio. Original AM radio still works. A neatly installed under dash Sony AM/FM/CD/USB MP3 player with detachable face plate has been added. Original 6”single under sill plate speaker replaced with 2 3 ½” pioneer speakers. All lights work including the optic cable light going to the ash try that is missing on many of these cars. Original wiper arms work fine, washers work. Lots of time and money spent on this car. You will be hard pressed to find a better example. I think its the nicest Lemans on ebay so far this year. Pontiac Historical Society documentation, copy of original window sticker. Rebuild documentation, receipts for all work on hand as well as lots of photos. Here are all the known issues. They are minor and may be fixed for less than a few hundred dollars. Passenger side top latch hook spring is broke, Top locks fine and tight, the hook just has to be guided into slot while closing latch. Cost to replace $50. 2 lower vent cables grommets broke, cost to replace $20 each. Needs new cigarette lighter, cost $10.00. Wood grain decal on shifter plate needs to be replaced $10.00. One 2 inch slat in the driver side front grill broke (see front end picture). The door panels are originals and are in very good shape for 40 years old. There is a 2 inch pull in then drive side's carpet panel. One of the red PMD center caps is cracked, $15.00 for a new one. The Rear seat belts are worn and faded. All the original seat belt buckle covers with GM Mark of Excellence, however, were restored and look great! New belts will run about $75.00 Car is sold as is. $750.00 deposit at end of auction, balance within 7 days. Please call 828-231-2119 between 9a and 9p EST, I’ll be happy to answer any questions and provide any additional info. Car can be seen locally in Asheville NC. Please, no texts and I am not interested in any trades. Thanks.
