Vehicle Detail

Up for a NO RESERVE auction is my 1968 IH Travelall. Very Strong 345 V-8, with 2-Barrel Carb. (I will be listing a 4-Barrel Carter AFB carb and manifold for this truck in separate auctions.) 1/2 Ton, with custom Alcan springs. 4 Wheel Drive, with factory Powr-Loc limited slip rear. Rare Factory Roof Rack. Grill Guard. This truck came out of New Mexico last year, and has a very solid body and frame, a perfect restoration candidate. Any significant rust issues appear to have been dealt with. The only bad spot is the right rear quarter panel, where someone played hit and run in a parking lot, messing up an earlier repair. 4-speed manual tranny, with crawler 1st. Two gas tanks, but they need a new vapor canister, and will drool if full, and sitting in the sun. Condition of A/C unknown. Pertronix electronic ignition, and recent tune up. Tires have plenty of tread, but are mismatched (one needed replacement when I got it, and we don't have Big Foot tires here on the right coast). Right rear quarter glass is cracked, but solid. I have a replacement available. I hate to part with this classic cruiser, but I have two other IH "Wagons," and something's got to go. It wouldn't take much to make this an absolute gem of a truck--I intended to do so, but have too many other projects. It needs nothing major to be a daily driver either (just wiper blades and a horn). A relatively rare truck that needs a good home. Please ask any questions prior to bidding (if you bid and win, you buy). Vehicle is sold "AS IS", with no warranties express or implied. Other than that, thanks for your interest in this piece of automotive history, and happy bidding!!!On Jul-08-11 at 12:50:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Wanted to add this info--someone asked about rust in the cowl and the floors. As stated in the ad, the major rust (tailgate and rear quarters) was repaired. As typical with these IH's, there is some rust in the cowl area that will need to be dealt with eventually, but it is without a doubt easily repairable, or could be left as is indefinitely, as I would call it minor. Same with the floors--from as much as I could lift the mats, a couple nickle sized holes in the drivers floor, and a soft spot on the passenger side, but can be fixed with some Power Mesh, epoxy, and POR-15. Happy to answer any other questions, so everyone knows exactly what they're bidding on--ask now, since it's too late once the auction ends, thanks!!!On Jul-09-11 at 11:09:53 PDT, seller added the following information: I may be listing a split bench front seat (pads good, but would need recovering), nice side trim set (different model year), and possibly a 3rd rear seat, all for this truck, prior to this auction's close. Keep an eye on my other auctions. Thanks!
