Vehicle Detail
Life inevitably moves forward and for me, that means it's time to reduce my collection of sports cars. Here, I'm offering for sale my beautiful 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2. As you can see from the pictures, it is in immaculate condition - it won Best of Display class at the 2002 PCA Concours. I have kept it in this clean condition the whole time I've owned it and it has always been parked in my spotless garage (I suffer from a bit of OCD when it comes to my cars). I bought it in 2001 with about 50k miles on it and I am the third owner. It is almost completely stock, including the fully-functional Blaupunkt Reno cassette receiver. Paint is all original and there has been no bodywork or area touch-ups except for a few tiny chips in the side mirror housings and front, normal for a 58k-mile vehicle. And, unusual for any pre-964 series 911, this one has fully-functional and very-cold A/C thanks to the installation of barrier hoses, a new receiver/dryer, and pressure switch in 2009 as part of a refresh of the R-134A refrigeration system. Works great, even in the hot Phoenix, Arizona summertime. Finally, it also has a new battery. I did say it was "almost" completely stock. What's changed? Rather than the 6" and 7"x16" Fuchs alloy wheels, this car has 7" and 9"x16" Fuchs from a 930 Turbo. I think they fill in the wheel wells much better than the narrower stock wheels, and more grip never hurt any sports car as far as I can tell. I have all maintenance records for it since new and while I've owned it it has received all regular maintenance as required by Porsche to keep it in tip-top condition. It has been professionally cared for by the fine folks at Porsche specialist Stuttgart Southwest in Tempe, Arizona, and the asking price is BELOW the value the car appraised at when it was professionally evaluated for renewal of the agreed-value collector-car insurance policy currently covering it (UPDATE: a picture of the appraisal note requested by the insurance company was added to the picture gallery linked below). If you have any questions about it or would like to schedule time to come and inspect it for yourself, please don't hesitate to contact me. UPDATE: It was brought to my attention that the AutoCheck report now shows a vehicle-offered-for-sale event dated June 2011 in South Dakota. I do not know what this is and am investigating but can only guess that either my listing on Ebay triggered an event or it's an error of some sort. more pics ?
