Vehicle Detail

1955 Chevy Suburban - an original four wheel drive with Warn hubs. The original 235 cubic inch six cylinder was replaced by an earlier owner with a camel hump head 327 V8. This was a Northern California truck until 1992 when I brought it to Texas. The engine is strong and the four speed transmission works great. The four wheel drive transfer case is complete but not hooked up at this time. The hood is a '57 which was on the Suburban when I purchased it. We do however have an original l955 hood and emblem that can be exchanged for the existing hood. The second owner cut a skylight into the roof over the bucket seats and it is tight with no leaks. We do not have the original seats. There are two rust areas -one on each of the lower fender areas along the bottom of the rear body panels, most likely from salt on the icy roads in Northern California. The glass is intact however five windows have cracks. This is a great survivor, and would make a perfect daily driver with a little work -a rare find. On Jun-30-11 at 15:03:33 PDT, seller added the following information: Suburban has original NAPCO 4wd. It has had a recent tune up, new ignition switch, new hoses and clean gas tank. It starts/drives/stops fine. It also has optional deluxe fresh air heater. Previous owner states it was used by the Forestry Department in Northern California.
