Vehicle Detail
Senior citizen owned, garage kept, Supercharged S2000 with $13000 in professionally installed extras: Never dented. All original factory pearl yellow paint. Totally stock engine. Synthetic oil since new. 25-26 mpg minimum on every tank of gas around town. Comptech (Paxton/NOVI) centrifugal supercharger with piggyback computer. S/C is geared for daily driving and has 200 rw hp at 6600 rpm, 2100 rpm below a stock S2000's max of 197 rw hp at 8700. 130 extra ponies at 9000 rpm. This saves gas and wear on the engine, because the V-Tech is rarely activated. Unlike a stock S2000, there is plenty of power down low. Stock rev limiter is set to factory specs of 9200 when warmed up and 6000 rpm when below optimum operating temperature. This alone keeps any fools who drive it from ruining the engine by abusing it before warming it up. Borla exhaust made for supercharged engine. Quiet enough at cruising speed and very rowdy when the V-Tech resets the cams. Reusable foam air filter (and spare) in carbon fresh-air box: This is loud when floored above 7000 rpm with the supercharger sucking through it. My grandson says it has a demon growling under the hood when floored. API heavy duty clutch kit controls power. Lightweight flywheel keeps tranny happy and intact. Special Honda upgrade tranny oil. SSR (Semi Soft Forged) 18" wheels with serious rubber to control the power and make it stick to the road. 255 rear, 225 front tires. Stock Torsen/Gleason limited slip rear end. Giant Tannabe anti-swar bars keep all four wheels on the ground when cornering. This is required with the supercharger unless you like spinning off the road when the (stock suspended) car leans from teh big tires and extra power. It also has a shock tower strut bar to stiffen front body when cornering. Once you learn to respect and control the power, this is an amazing handling car. 200 rear wheel hp at 6600 rpm ( just before the V-Tech activates) makes this car very drivable. A stock S2000 is maxxed out at 197 rwhp at 8700. S/C kit gives 130 extra hp @ 9000. Stock Shift lights activate at 9000 rpm, 200 below ignition cutout. This gives the car about 45 more rear wheel horsepower than a 370Z, while weighing 475 pounds less. The math here is easy. Check Road and Track. 13.8 quarter mile for stock S2000 CR, 13.4 for 370Z. New upgraded canvas top: The same exact material Mercedes and BMW use. Glass window option. Rear Honda winglet w/ brake light. Lots of carbon fiber interior trim. "S2000" badges instead of "H". S2000 CR floor mat logo matches color of car. I almost forgot: Pioneer Elite 160 watt CD/Radio/(MP3 or iPod?) with 75 watt x 3 JL amp. Polk Audio speakers in doors and JLs in back of seats. 10" sub. I have had real, two seat sports cars for over 40 years. After spending a fortune keeping German and Italian cars running, I switched to Japanese and have never had any problems with my MR2, my built Supercharged MR2, my totally built Turbo MR2, or this modestly boosted Honda. I won several autocross series championships with the blown Toyotas. They were legal because the blowers are stock items. The Honda was designed to run this supercharger and the kit was installed by a Honda/Acura dealer specializing in Supercharged NSXs and S2000s. Toyota still offers dealer installed superchargers for their normally asperated cars and trucks. Honda and Toyota have now totally wimped out on Sports cars, unless you have $400,000 for the Lexus. I set my cars up for handling. I can even tell you how to fine tune and improve this one for $200 in parts. I just never got around to it when I found out it is not legal to autocross as built. When I got the Honda 5 years ago, I sold the built Turbo car with 237,000 miles and no issues ever. The S2000 is a much better car. It should last forever with fresh fluid changes... Synthetic Only! Buy the accessories and get the car free. Everything was professionally installed. I am not a mechanic but I have owned motorcycle, PWC, and autocross race teams and know my stuff. This Honda was never raced, not even in autocross. It isn't legal: Tires too big/ non-stock supercharger. That's the rules. Pity. Offers accepted. More photos coming. It's storming outside.
