Selling Another Classic European Sports Car I have been a classic car enthusiast for 9 years buying mostly Porsches Mercedes and BMW’s because in my opinion, nothing compares to German engineering. I have also helped several international buyers locate, purchase, and export these beautiful cars back to their place of origin for private collection therefore I accept and welcome bidders from around the world. Some vehicles I sell are my personal cars, others are ones that I am listing on behalf of others, but I always drive the cars and describe them to the best of my ability. Prior to bidding on any of my vehicles, please make sure to ask any questions as your bid is a binding contract stating that you accept the car in AS IS condition. All sales are final- I simply will not put up with anyone who is just shopping or wasting time. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE FUNDS READY TO MAKE FULL PAYMENT WITHIN 7 DAYS PER AUCTION TERMS DO NOT BID. I know that most ebayers and classic car collectors are stand-up people but there are a few out there who simply should not be buying cars online. I do my best to describe the cars as they are in my opinion but in order to make sure that the cars are up to your standards it is your responsibility to inspect the car in person or have your assigned agent inspect the car, otherwise you are buying the car based on my opinion only- I am not a certified car inspector or mechanic- just an enthusiast that has been around a lot of classic cars. That disclaimer being stated, here is the description I offer for this particular car: This car appears to be a three owner car and per verbal history plus everything I can see the miles are original. It was professionally converted to a cabriolet in the early 90's (done the right way- very nice job) and is a very solid and beautiful car. The previous owner was a former airplane mechanic and engineer who has maintained this car wonderfully as well as made some cosmetic and mechanical restorations costing well over $10,000. This car comes with some recent receipts for service work including chain tensioner upgrades, the original owners manual, dust cover, and everything you see in the pictures. It runs great, handles well, drives straight, and looks amazing. My overall assessment is that this car is in extremely good condition as it has mostly been a garage queen. It runs and drives very well and the motor runs incredibly strong. It passed safety and emissions inspections here in Utah recently and has current tags. This car has a NADA classic car value of between $17,700 and $26,900 (http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1980/Porsche/911SC/Targa-2-Door-Coupe/Values)-- that being said I think it is fair to assume that someone would list this car for sale at around $22,000 on Auto Trader or some other retail listing service because it has been kept in such great condition. This car will sell to the highest bidder- I believe that value is determined by what people are willing to pay for a car which is why I list cars at NO RESERVE. As mentioned this car is in excellent condition across the board- below is my very detailed an honest description of this car. Most people would just say “excellent condition” and not give all the details but I try to include everything, good and bad. Cosmetically this car is pretty much flawless. I can't see any dings in the body and the paint was resprayed once within the last couple years so it is in very nice condition both from afar and up close. The original wheels have been polished out and are flawless, plus the tires are almost new. The seats had some custom covers put over the original seats, the carpets are clean practically brand new having been replaced, the dash is in tact without cracks, and there are no major interior flaws I can complain about. It was a non smoker so there are no foul smells . The top is in good condition and comes on and off as it should and seals up nicely-.There is no rust- all the pans are solid including the battery housing and front clip. This us a dry, straight, and true body- just a really nice car that was originally a targa and professionally converted to a cabriolet. Mechanically the car is solid. This beauty starts right up and runs/sounds clean and strong and does not smoke. This car passed Utah Safety and Emissions inspection and has current tags. It looks to have all the key updates recommended for this year model. The brakes are solid and the suspension feels good. The car drives straight without vibrations or pulling one way or another. The motor was recently removed and resealed plus the clutch was replaced. I have had the car in the same spot and have yet to see any oil but one or two very small oil spots as is more the rule than the exception with classic 911s. I always plan on them leaking and have oil proofed my garage with drip pads as it seems to be something that just comes with the territory with a 30 year old car. Anyone who claims to have a 911 that does not leak oil is probably not telling the whole story but this one has had great work done and is very dry. The transmission shifts well but as is usual with these cars you have to be careful when downshifting from 2nd to 1st gear- I usually just put it in neutral and use the brakes. Motor number is 6401263. When the previous owner replaced the carpet he also put sound deadening material throughout the car so it is a relatively quite ride. In summary, this is a hard to find low mileage SC with a rare paint color that is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. I really like the color combo and attention this car gets from anyone who sees it. It would make a great collector car that still has a lot of life left in it. Feel free to ask questions prior to bidding. I can provide a reference for arranging very affordable transportation for this car to any state or port in the USA. TERMS: A NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT VIA PAYPAL OF $700 DUE WITHIN 48 HOURS OF AUCTION’S END FULL PAYMENT OR PROOF OF WIRE TRANSFER IS DUE WITHIN 7 DAYS OF AUCTION’S END SALE IS FINAL ONCE ANY CAR IS PICKED UP OR ACCEPTED BY BUYER OR BUYER’S AGENT
