This Mercedes has been my extra car since I bought it in 2005. I am an airline pilot and have based the car at several airports throughout the years. Currently, it is parked at the Detroit Wayne County airport in the employee lot. When I bought the car it was in excellent condition for its age and I have done no significant work to it other than regular maintenance. The last service was the most extensive service that I have had done to the car - it was done by Mikes Mercedes service in Scenectady, New York. Mike himself told me that after removing the valve cover and inspecting the engine, he was convinced that the engine had been rebuilt or was otherwise exceptionally clean. He adjusted the valve timing, replaced and tightened belts, changed oil and filter, replaced air filter (california version), replaced glow plugs, tightened steering box and did some other minor maintenance work. The car has been driven approximately 500 miles since this service. The pictures posted were taken several years ago and the paint (original) has deteriorated since, however, there is absolutely no rust anywhere on the vehicle which is very rare for it's age obviously. The body is accident free and extremely clean. Everything works on the car with the exception of the odometer - it stopped turning within the last two years and I have driven the car less than 5000 miles since. I believe it is stopped at around 190K miles. The title is clear and in my name; the car fax is absolutely clean with no accidents or major repair in the vehicles 25+ year life. I believe this car to be in well above average condition (both mechanically and cosmetically) for it's year and model. The interior is in very good original condition with plenty of life left in the seat springs, no tears or cuts in the leather, and only one small crack in the dash. The engine runs smoothly and starts very easily even in extreme cold. The transmission was inspected by Mike at Mikes Mercedes and shifts perfectly. As previously stated, the vehicle is parked at the DTW airport and that is where the new owner will pick up the vehicle. I can meet you there at a pre-arranged time to sign over the paperwork and deliver the keys. Thanks for your interest and feel free to ask any questions! ALSO NOTE: the AC blower motor works fine but the system does have a leak somewhere in it. It was converted to the newer (non freon) refrigerant but it will not hold it for more than a few days.
