The vehicle comes with an original issued California Pink Slip and original California blue plates that were issued in the 70's. The pink slip notes that the car was originally sold on June 13, 1976 and issued on December 1979. We acquired this beauty through a Hi-line auto auction. We were told that the vehicle was originally purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Anderson of Lakewood, California and that the only reason they did not keep the vehicle was because they were put in nursing home and they no longer drove. This beautiful Monte Carlo is in extremely nice condition inside and out and it shows. This beauty looks like it was garaged from day one. There is very little wear and tear on this vehicle. The car starts right up, transmission shifts smoothly, engine accelerates nicely, A/C blows nice and cold and the factory radio works perfectly. As far as we know, everything in this vehicle is in good working mechanical condition. When we acquired the Monte Carlo it was guaranteed to us through the auction. This gave us the opportunity to have the vehicle inspected to make sure it was mechanically sound and that there was no sings of frame damage. It passed the inspection without any issues. The only thing the inpector noted that there was some minor seapage which was normal for a car of this age. Also as far as we know, we believe that this vehicle is all original inside and out. The only thing we believe might not be 100% original is the paint. We think that there are some spots that might have had some minor paint work, but for the most part it is all original. You will not find a nicer Monte Carlo out there. Lastly, the rear passenger bumper filler needs to be replaced and we are actively looking for one. We will find one, its just a matter of time. A new crosshatch grille and vertically mounted rectangular headlamps, along with reshaped taillights identified the 1976 Monte Carlo (the reshaped taillight pattern was later incorporated into the fourth generation Monte Carlo). Under the hood, a new 140 hp (104 kW) 305 CID 2-barrel V8 became the standard engine with the 145 hp (108 kW) 350 2-barrel V8 and 175 hp (130 kW) 400 CID V8 both optional. California cars got a 165 hp (123 kW) 350 4-barrel as the base engine (not available in 49 states), and could be equipped with the 400 4-barrel V8. The big-block 454 CID V8 was discontinued from the option list this year.
