1982 Volkswagen Rabbit DIESEL 4 speed Manual transmission. I purchased this car and brought it back to life three years ago when fuel was $4 a gallon. With a 90 mile a day to commute to and from work it just made sense. No longer have a need for it after retirement so here is your chance to purchase a very low mileage - dependable - 1982 Volkswagen Rabbit DIESEL! The car had been sitting in a field for 16 years prior to me purchasing it. Has only 98k ORIGINAL miles so it has TONS of life left in it for someone who wants to drive nearly 500 miles on only 10 gallons of fuel. Repairs that have been done in last 10k miles consist of new brakes, all fuel lines, timing belt , glow plugs, and tires. Now for the bad; the car does need paint job as you can see from the pictures (that is what 16 years of sitting in a field cooking in the sun does to a car) but as a driver i really didn’t mind the zebra stripe on roof but a cheap paint job would help make this car look as good as it runs. The emergency brake will not engage but I never had to park on hill so never had it replaced. Lastly, the radio does not work, could be something simple but I just never had it looked at. The interior is in very good condition with the exception of the headliner (it is in place but needs tacked up better) the struts front and rear are good, has NO rust on the strut towers. Very dependable car, has block heater to ensure it will start up on the coldest mornings. I would not be afraid to get in this vehicle and deliver it anywhere, runs like a champ at 65 mph gets a little shaky above that.
