Vehicle Detail
1983 Jeep Scrambler. 304 V8, 5-speed tranny. I have owned this Jeep since January of 2004. Restored from the ground up over the next few years. Since the rebuild, has never been in mud, and only used the 4x4 for getting around in the snow. The frame and axles have been sandblasted and painted. The original body tub, fenders, hood, and windshield frame had excessive rust when I bought it so replaced everything with new steel parts. The grill and doors are original, but were painted when I replaced the tub, fenders, etc. The inside of the tub (floor boards, seat area, and bed) were treated with an all weather coating, much like a rhino-liner. The suspension was replaced with new leaf springs, new shackles and black diamond shocks – gave it about a 3” lift. Replaced the 258 I6 with a rebuilt 304 V8. New brake lines, fuel lines and brain box. Not too much is still around from what I purchased in 2004. Very reliable vehicle - it has been my daily driver for the last couple years, but I’ve got 2 daughter’s under the age of 2 and need to get something that can hold a couple of car seats. The fuel and temperature gages stopped working about a year ago, and just haven’t had the time to find the problem. The paint is good except right above the door hinges from taking the doors off. The Jeep is by no means show quality, but it has all the big expenses made for a person to do whatever they wanted with it. With the new steel parts, rust isn’t an issue either. If you’re close enough come give it a look and/or test drive. No warranty written or implied, but with as many things that have been rebuilt or replaced, shouldn’t be an issue. I have a bikini top and nerf bars that go with it, but the custom exhaust will need to be re-routed for the nerf bars to fit. Please ask any questions you might have prior to bidding. Thanks.
