Relisted due to non-paying bidder! Make sure your spouse is really on board before you bid! 1980 FERRARI 400i GT with 5 speed manual gearbox. The majority of these cars were equipped with a GM automatic transmission but this one has the manual with the only option available, the rear air conditioner. Interior is in excellent condition, the dash leather was replaced and looks great except where the trim has come loose on the passenger side, easy fix. The engine pulls very strong, but has an oil leak which I believe is the oil drain plug. This car is one of the finest Grand Touring cars ever made. I drove it from Washington DC to Houston Tx. with no problems what so ever, and I felt as refreshed getting out of the car as when I got in! Yes it doesn't have the flash factor of a lot of Ferrari's, kind of understated boxy styling, but when behind the wheel, going through the gears with the AWSOME sound of the fabulous V-12 engine, we're talking automotive NIRVANA! The auto leveling system that the car was originally equipped with has been replaced and now sports quad Konis in the rear. The exterior is the original silver paint and needs a respray, there is a dent on the drivers side behind the rear tire that is not shown in the picture. The headlight conrol knob on the steering colum needs fixed (the wire needs soldered, and a new ball for the indent). There is a crack in the windshield and a rust spot just above the windshield, where I removed the rust, sprayed a rust bonding chemical then sealed with black silicone that will need to be repaired (see photo). The only other rust that am aware of is the exhaust headers, and that is just surface rust. It needs a new thermostat and oil pressure sending unit. $17,000.00 was spent bringing the car up, or down depending on your point of view to US DOT standards. It does have catalytic converters so should pass California emissions. Newer exaust with very good Pirelli tires. Also I have two pieces of Ferrari leather luggage that go with the car. The A/C doesn't work, I have never had it checked, it's all there may need freon. Has a very strong limited slip differential. Oh yeah, the speedometer reads kilometers, not miles. Has a Sony stero with 6-disk cd changer in trunk with Infinity speakers. I love this car and do not want to sell it, or any of my other cars, however I have become disabled and can no longer fix or maintain them properly myself, and most shops will not do to suit me, so they have to go to new homes. Check my other auctions for MB 230 SL, Porsches, BMWs,& Lotus. Happy Bidding.
