Vehicle Detail
1970 Chevrolet Nova, Factory 307 2bbl the following specs where taken from enginefacts.com 1968 - 1971 with 2 Barrel Carb Max Brake Horsepower - 200 @ 5800 rpm Max Torque - 300 @ 4200 rpm Stroke - 3.25 Bore - 3.875 Compression - 9.00 Firing Order - 18436572 This engine is coupled to a 3 speed manual that has a factory floor shifter. This combo is actually surprisingly quick and fun to drive. I purchased this car with all intentions of restoring it but 10 years later..... here it sits. Its time for it to go to a new home. Believe it or not the engine was completly torn down, bored and re-built professionally and paid for by the previous owner just before he passed on---I bought the car from his widow. The motor was sprayed Chevy orange and installed.... 10 years of sitting has taken a toll on the paint and it doesn't look quite as nice. The motor has less than 5000 miles on it and purrs like a kitten... there are no leaks or ticks or knocks.... it runs out fine and I would leave it just as it sits. I don't know the rear end ratio.... all I can tell you is its a 10 bolt non posi unit and it feels like 3.08's.... I've had 3.55's and 3.73's and this car just isn't buzzing down the highway like it has much more gear than a 3.08. If the high bidder is interested I have a Saginaw 4 speed for a few extra bucks that would drop in place of the three speed and make this car that much more fun to drive. Shipping will be entirely the responsibility of the buyer... I will help where I can. Otherwise the car is in Andover CT and can be looked at there or picked up after the auction ends. The trunk floor needs to be replaced but the floors themselves and the rockers are solid. It has the typical quarter panel and fender rot that can easily be patched with cheater panels..... Overall a very solid car for restoration that would make a heck of a fun ride with a few mods.... Car has non power 4 wheel drum brakes and power steering. Ask any and all questions and I will respond ASAP Thanks for looking and good luck!! Tony
