Vehicle Detail
This a 2002 Red Jeep Liberty that I've owned for the last five years. I enjoyed the design and handing of the Liberty, and have been a loyal Jeep owner. The inside sports a gray interior that includes comfortable seats and a great stereo system. An iPod interface had been used with the factory radio, allowing me to enjoy music and podcasts during my drive to work. The exterior is rugged and "athletic" (to quote Edmunds). A number of parts were replaced during my care, including front windshield replacement, alternator, front disc brake pads & rotors (numerous times), and cam & crank sensors. Oil had been changed on a regular basis. The vehicle was recently inspected and emission-tested (before engine failure). The Jeep Liberty is being sold "as is" and has had two major recent issues: 1. Mechanical failure of the engine. Mechanic suggested an engine replacement. (June 2011) 2. Part of the bumper above the front left tire had become detached from the body when I hit a patch of black ice. (Jan. 2011). I temporarily glued it back in place. (see pics) There are also two smaller issues that warrant easier repair: 1. Side windows in the back do not stay up. I called Chrysler about this issue earlier in January and they were willing to pay for the part costs if I pay for the cost of labor. 2. Rear windshield wiper stopped working. I suspect that this is due to either a blown fuse or a faulty wiper motor in need of replacement. Unfortunately, I am not mechanically-inclined with vehicles. This "fixer-upper" would be great for someone who is auto savvy. Also, the cost of engine replacement would be an alternative than paying $5,000+ for the purchase of the same make & model on eBay or elsewhere. Payment will be used to satisfy the small balance on the current lien. Please contact me with any questions *before* the auction comes to a close. Good luck, bidders!!!
