Selling Another Classic European Sports Car I have been a classic car enthusiast for 9 years buying mostly Porsches Mercedes and BMW’s because in my opinion, nothing compares to German engineering. I have also helped several international buyers locate, purchase, and export these beautiful cars back to their place of origin for private collection therefore I accept and welcome bidders from around the world. Some vehicles I sell are my personal cars, others are ones that I am listing on behalf of others, but I always drive the cars and describe them to the best of my ability. Prior to bidding on any of my vehicles, please make sure to ask any questions as your bid is a binding contract stating that you accept the car in AS IS condition. All sales are final- I simply will not put up with anyone who is just shopping or wasting time. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE FUNDS READY TO MAKE FULL PAYMENT WITHIN 7 DAYS PER AUCTION TERMS DO NOT BID. I know that most ebayers and classic car collectors are stand-up people but there are a few out there who simply should not be buying cars online. I do my best to describe the cars as they are in my opinion but in order to make sure that the cars are up to your standards it is your responsibility to inspect the car in person or have your assigned agent inspect the car, otherwise you are buying the car based on my opinion only- I am not a certified car inspector or mechanic- just an enthusiast that has been around a lot of classic cars. That disclaimer being stated, here is the description I offer for this particular car: This car appears to be a three owner car per all the service documentation I have going back to 1983 and as far as I can see the miles are original and it has the original motor and is the true factory color with a 4 speed manual original transmission. It was a grey market turbo imported in 1983 and It was maintained by Auto Haus in Reno, then by a few Porsche specialists in Northern Idaho. I do have records of all major services done including a recent 60,000 mile major service, plus I have receipts for thousands and thousands of dollars in good maintenance done on this car including a replaced turbocharger. This car comes with all the documentation back to 1983, dust cover, bra, spare wheel, tool kit, compressor, and everything you see in the pictures. It runs great, handles well, drives straight, and looks amazing. I just drove it from Spokane, Washington to Salt Lake City Utah (over 700 miles nonstop) without any issues. My overall assessment is that this car is in very good condition and is a solid driver. It runs and drives very well and the motor runs strong without smoking or leaking oil. The AC is all there and blows COLD and it has been regularly inspected and has current tags. This car has a NADA classic car value of between $26,300 and $41,000 http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1980/Porsche/930-Turbo-Carrera/2-Door-Coupe-+/Values-- that being said I think it is fair to assume that someone would list this car for sale at around $35,000 on Auto Trader or some other retail listing service. This car will sell to the highest bidder- I believe that value is determined by what people are willing to pay for a car which is why I list cars at NO RESERVE. As mentioned this car is in good condition across the board- below is my very detailed an honest description of this car. Most people would just say “excellent condition” and not give all the details but I try to include everything, good and bad. Cosmetically this car is beautiful to look at inside and out and literally has everyone who sees it asking questions about it. The body looks straight and solid with no rust or collision damage—only some stone chips in the front spoiler and hood area and along the rocker panels. It also has a couple of small dings that you have to get in the right light to see but nothing that a good paintless dent removal technician couldn’t take care of. I have someone that will take out all the dings and touch up the paint and the rock chips for $500. The body rubber seals are a bit weathered as expected for a car of this vintage. The tires are almost new with a lot of tread remaining and the wheels do not have any rash. The seats are in great shape and the carpets are clean. The dash is in tact without cracks, and there are no major interior flaws. All the gauges work as they should and the power options do as well. It was a non smoker so there are no foul smells . There is no rust- all the pans are solid including the battery housing and front clip. This is a dry, straight - just a really nice Turbo that is begging to be driven. Mechanically the car is solid. This beauty starts right up and runs clean and strong and does not smoke. The brakes are solid and the suspension feels good- both have service records for replacements and the suspension was slightly lowered for a more aggressive stance. The car drives straight without vibrations or pulling one way or another. I have had the car in the same spot and have yet to see any oil drips. I always plan on them leaking and have oil proofed my garage with drip pads as it seems to be something that just comes with the territory with a 30 year old car but this one has not left anything yet. Anyone who claims to have a Porsche that does not leak oil is probably not telling the whole story but this one has had great work done and is very dry. The AC blows cold and the transmission shifts well without any grinding and the turbo kicks in and gives this car great top end power. The only concern I have as explained to me by the previous owner would be that the muffler seems to have a rattle at idle. He says that it is the mounting brackets and that at one point the had it spot welded but it looks to have returned. It does not seem to be a huge issue but I like to disclose everything I know about any car that I would represent. In summary, this is a hard to find low mileage Turbo with a rare paint color that is in good mechanical and cosmetic condition. I really like the color combo and attention this car gets from anyone who sees it. It would make a great collector car that still has a lot of life left in it. Feel free to ask questions prior to bidding. I can provide a reference for arranging very affordable transportation for this car to any state or port in the USA.
