Vehicle Detail

1984 Honda V65 Magna VF1100C, 36K miles, in excellent shape, frame-up restoration completed in 2009 I bought the bike with 32K miles as a running project, it had basically been neglected and had a bad gearbox. Over the next 2 years (I had a 700 Magna I also restored, so I was in no rush), I tore the bike down to the frame and went over every nut and bolt, either replaced, repainted, polished, or rebuilt most everything. Tank, fenders, and side panels were painted Cayenne Red Metallic. I opened up the motor and mic'd/plastigauged most everything, replaced the gearbox, shift drum, shift forks, clutch, headgaskets, all seals, valve stem seals, lapped valves, rebuilt starter, rebuilt carbs and much more. It shifts very smoothly and holds every gear as it should. These bikes are notorious for the cams pitting, this one has spotless cams in it. I just took it to the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC and TN 2 weeks ago and put 1,000 miles on it, it held its own with the sport bikes. I'm selling it because I realized I need something sportier for my riding style. Mods / Upgrades: Polished all aluminum, rare KG sliding backrest, have a 6 pk rack I haven't put on yet - needs to be polished still, NOS F1 mufflers that were still in the box when I put them on the bike. Progressive Suspension front springs, stainless brake/clutch lines all around, daytona bars, new K&N filter, Avon Azaro rear tire, Avon Storm Front. Here's what's been done: - Tore down to the frame, repainted some frame bits, but not a complete repaint (wasn't too bad) - Split cases on motor, replaced gears, shift drum, and shift forks with a spotless set, lapped valves and put in new head gaskets, valve stem seals, all other seals replaced. - Rebuilt starter, clutch replaced. - Rebuilt and polished forks, progressive springs, new Honda seals and bushings, stainless fork brace below polished stock brace. - All hydraulics rebuilt, new sight glasses on '83 master cylinders, stainless lines all around, chrome wide levers, stainless screws - New daytona bars, rebuilt gauge cluster with polished cups, new seals, and a new pilot box cover - New front and rear wheel bearings - New starter solenoid with blade style fuse - Rebuilt carbs, new float bowl seals and new fuel tube o-rings - Repacked headstem and swingarm bearings - New thermostat, lower temp fanstat sensor, and all coolant pipe o-rings and seals replaced - New sealed battery (1 year old, kept on a battery tender) - Avon Azaro/Storm radial tires front and rear. Front has lots of tread left, rear probably will need to be replaced in the next 1000 miles - New NGK plug wires and plugs - K&N Air Filter - All electrical connections cleaned and di-electric greased, 3 yellow wire fix has been done I'm sure there's more that I'm forgetting. While it's a very nice bike, it's still 27 years old and is not perfect. I built it to be a nice rider, not a show bike. The rims have the typical peeling chrome. There's a small paint bubble next to one of the tank bolts, can probably be touched up, I have the touch up bottle. If I didn't show it to you it wouldn't even be noticed. One side panel is missing a tab, but I use wire under the seat to hold both on since they are known to blow-off. $200 deposit due via PayPal within 3 days, full payment due in 7 days (cash, money order, PayPal). If you don't plan on paying, please do not bid. Bike is also listed locally, I reserve the right to cancel auction if it sells locally before the close of the auction. I'd prefer local pick-up, but I'll be happy to help with getting it shipped if you pay for and handle the arrangements. I can also drop it off at Forward Air for no cost if you plan on using them (not far from my house). Thanks for looking and e-mail with any questionsOn Jun-08-11 at 14:51:18 PDT, seller added the following information: ***I've had several questions about the mufflers...the F1 Mufflers really aren't any louder than stock, they give it a little deeper tone***
