It really looks better than it should for the year and especially the miles. I was talking to my paint guy the other day when it pulled up into our dealership. Just fooling around I asked him to guess the miles just from the exterior appearance and he said 65,000 miles. Yep, a professional who does auto body work for a living had no idea this SUV had the miles on it that it has and was shocked when I told him. With the exception of a little door ding or normal scuff, this Yukon looks great. He could not find any imperfections worth his repair. Exterior: This GMC Yukon Looks Fantastic! The exterior is a Black Onyx. You will find the paint to be very shiny and glossy with lots of luster. We do not see any indications of paint or body work on this GMC. The carfax is clean and clear with 1 Owner, further indicating no accident history. There are lots of exterior features including Black Entry Steps aka Running Boards. These make getting in and out of the Yukon very easy, even in heels, the elderly, or small children. These running boards are in perfect condition, so much so I first thought they were new. The Running Boards run along the side of the suv and offer support for both front and rear door entries. There are Black front Tow Hooks that match these running Boards. Black Accents continue with the Dark Tinted Windows that help to protect passengers and items inside. There is an adjustable roof luggage rack with rails, perfect for more stuff. ***You will find a factory tow package with light hook up. This Tow Hitch is Labeled: 15083474 Maximum Trailer Weight 5000 lbs. Maximum Tongue Weight 600 lbs. Weight Distributing 12,000 lbs. and tongue 1500 lbs. This Tow Hitch has a Light Hook Up, too. The Rear of this SUV Features a tailgate. I particularly like this style because it allows you to pop the back window open to let larger items hang out, you can actually tailgate aka hang out on the tail gate, and makes it easy to load and unload cargo. Plus, this Yukon is built on a truck platform and that‘s where a tailgate belongs, on a truck. The Rear Bumper is Chrome with Black Non Skid. This Non Skid makes getting in and out easier, even when wet. I really like the depth and height of the bumper. This GMC is riding on a set of Factory Upgraded 16" Alloy Wheels that are in great condition. A set of P265 70 R 16 tires just passed VA State Safety Inspection. The rear tires appear to be brand new, the front ones are a bit older. You will find this SUV to be in overall Very Good condition. The overall stance, color, and add ons make for a fantastic SUV! The carfax is clean and clear and there are no indications of paint or body work. This is a 1 Owner SUV. Exterior Upgrades Continue with the Dark Tinted Windows. Protecting Passengers, Items, and the Interior Itself, the Tint also looks Fantastic. I love these dark tinted windows, and so does my daughter. The dark tint keeps her happier and quieter. Even with the third seat upright there is plenty of room for cargo. In the back cargo area, you fill find more extras and surprises. There are storage cubbies on each side of the rear area. There is a flip up cubby on the rear driver’s side. The rear cargo area is carpeted. There is an AC power source back here, too. There are cargo tie downs for securing items. Overall, the Exterior of this SUV is Very Good considering the age and miles. I do notice some road rash, minor scratches/scuffs and door dings. Nothing that is significant. Again, considering the age and mileage this SUV is in Awesome condition. If you expectations are realistic you will be pleasantly surprised. DVD/Entertainment System: There is a DVD Entertainment System. There is a Panasonic DVD Flip down for rear seat passengers. One thing I notice right off is that you insert the DVDs from the ceiling mount, too. This is a nice surprise. Often DVD players are floor mounted and thus subject to damage (you know spilled soda, getting stepped on, or having items hit it), but this one being on the ceiling keeps it out of harms way. Plus, it is easier to load and unload the discs. When they are on the floor, you often have to move other items or twist your body into uncomfortable positions to access the dvd player. But in this Yukon, the dvds load conveniently from the ceiling mounted player. Interior: The Interior of this truck is also in Good Condition, better than I would hope for given the year and miles. The Inside of this SUV has so many options I am going to split this description up into lots of sections. Interior / Upholestry: This GMC Yukon XL Features Soft Leather Seating. There are Front Captain Seats, Middle Captain Seats, and Rear Solid Bench Seat. The inside is a combination of Taupe leather, carpet, dash, and black accents. You will find the overall interior condition to be very good, too. The seats are all soft and subtle. The carpets are a coordinating gray color and in good condition. You will find some staining on some areas of the carpet, but no major flaws, just usual light wear. The Front Row and Second Row Each Seats 2 Passengers in Individual Style Captain Chairs. Each Front Seat is equipped with Multi Point Power Adjustments, Recline, Lumbar Support and Multi Setting Heat. The Heat controls are on each door. It has been warm here so it feels like the seats work, but hard to really test in 80+ degree heat. Each Front Seat has a Flip Down Side Armrest, in matching Leather. The Front Seats show usual wear, less than expected for the year and mileage. The Backs of each of these seats include storage with gray cargo netting on each seat back. Each Front Seat has Adjustable Height Headrest and built in Shoulder Seat Belts. On the driver side I noticed the casing/trim piece has come out. The Passenger side has one entry handle. Overhead you will find two adjustable reading lights as well as stationary entry lighting. The Second Row are also individual Captain Style Seats. These seats also have adjustable armrests. The second row seats also have adjustable head rests. This makes getting in and out of the back seat easier and more convenient. Overhead there are lights for the second row passengers. Each rear door has carpeted lower panels so you do not damage the door panel if you push it with your foot. From the back of the center console between the front seats is a flip out cup holder for the second row passengers. Overhead are vents for the rear AC. The Third Row of Seating is a solid Bench Seat. This seat is for 3 more passengers, offering total seating for 7! Wow! Unlike a lot of competitors who have seats belts with technical seating for 7, this Yukon offers Comfortable Seating for 7 Adults. While it may not be everyday you need to carry 7 Adults, or maybe it is, either way this Yukon is ready when Duty Calls! I have never been in an SUV, other than a GM product, that offers such comfortable 7 Adult Seating. This third row seat easily removes from the SUV for the ultimate interior cargo space. Or, you can flip it down. This also allows for more customizable cargo hauling space. There are more separate air vents overhead. Overhead you also find another overhead light. This far rear cargo area also has two clothes hooks. You will find a cup holder on each side of this seat. Front Console Amenities: The Front Seating area of this SUV is Loaded with Power and Comfort Features! From the Driver's Seat you will find cool stuff to the left, right, overhead, straight ahead and even under your butt! Starting to the left, you will find the front doors to have Power Window Controls, Power Door Lock Controls (complete with two sets of keys including 2 remote key fobs), soft fabric on each door near the armrest for added comfort, large door storage cubbies on both front doors, Heated seat controls, and power side view mirror controls. Each front seat has a flip down armrest built upholstered in coordinating leather. There is a Huge center console with lots of features. This center console offers deep storage with integrated change holder, a writing center on top , and two cup holders. Overhead, you will find tons more features! There is Homelink Garage Door Openers that can be programmed to your house. There are overhead lights. The rear view mirror is automatically dimming and has a compass that displays in the corner of the rear view mirros. Both front passengers have Expandable Sunshades with Lighted Vanity Mirrors. Directly ahead of the driver, you will find a sporty steering wheel that is smooth. This is a tilt steering wheel. On the steering Wheel, there are lots of controls. I notice Radio Controls, Driver information buttons ie DTE. The steering column housing the cruise control stalk, the window wiper controls and the tilt wheel lever. Just to the left of the steering wheel you have the 4wd controls, easy to use puch buttons. Notice below, this GMC comes with speed sensitive steering for better handling and added comfort while on the road. The Front Console has more controls and features. There is AC power source. The large glove box is lighted. As a an SLT model you will find this SUV to be Loaded Up with Tons of Options! Seriously, this 2003 Model has all the features of most new cars! Awesome! From Front to Back, Top to Bottom, Luxury Surrounds! This SUV is so Loaded it is hard to keep track. The interior of this SUV even smells great! I am allergic to smoke and thus very sensitive to it and do not smell any lingering smoke odor. I also do not smell and lingering pet odor. I do not see any small hairs so I do not believe pets to have ever been in this suv. The inside of this vehicle smells good with no with no funny or obnoxious odors any were in this truck. This super easy to drive Automatic Transmission Features Overdrive. You can turn the overdrive off when towing or hauling. Overall the Interior of this SUV is in Good Condition. The things we notice about this SUV are: some of the writings have scratched, there is some staining on the carpet, normal wear. The wear and tear is what I would consider slightly better than condition consistent for the age and mileage. Under the Hood: This Super Powerful and Practical V8 engine gets the job done. On the business end, this 325 cubic inch engine generates 285 Horsepower at 5,200 rpm, 325 pounds-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm. This SUV never wants for power and won't let you down. This teams with a automatic transmission, featuring OD Off for hauling/towing. 4 Wheel Drive - This GMC features a very sophisticated 4x4 system. On the dash are two sets of buttons, you can select 2wd or All Wheel Drive with one button or lock into 4 Hi or 4 Lo with another! This multi selection allowing 2 Wheel Driving option improves fuel efficiency. With automatic locking hubs, you can control all this with a touch of a button from the comfort of the driver's seat. A Heavy Duty Factory Towing Package with Light hook up lets you take what you want with you when you go! Driving Impressions: I have driven this 2003 GMC Yukon SLT and let me say, it is ready to keep going. A vehicle does not make it to 265k miles if it is not ready to keep going. I have seen these GM suvs go over 400k and suspect this one will too! Comfortable in the rain or snow, Practical when driving around all my friends and versatile if I needed to tow or haul something, I just love this GMC! Oh, did I mention how Cool it Looks!! We took this GMC in for VA State Safety Inspection, and much to my pleasant surprise, all it needed was a fog lamp. I was a bit surprised, but again, this just goes to show that the previous owner took good mechanical care of this suv. Around town, on the highway, This Yukon XL Performs Flawlessly! The brakes are solid with no pulsating, the alignment is straight and true. The transmission shifts smoothly and the engine feels strong. We have been very amazed at how clean and fun to drive this SUV has been! We have tested many of the power features and have found everything to be working just great! (Now, there are a lot of features on this SUV and we could have honestly overlooked something, but things such as Power Windows, Locks, Mirrors, Cruise Control, etc. all check out).
