GASSER MADNESS WITH A UNIQUE TWIST!!! UP FOR SALE IS MY 1959 RAMBLER NASH AMERICAN 2 DR WAGON. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING DESCRIPTION ABOUT THE CAR.I PURCHASED THE CAR TWO YRS AGO AND IT WAS A DRY CALIFORNIA CAR WHEN I PURCHASED IT. BODY: THE BODY IS PRETTY CLOSE TO RUST FREE AS POSSIBLE.WHEN I GOT IT THE BACK FLOOR BOARD (PASSENGERS SIDE) HAD A RUST HOLE ABOUT 5 INCH SQUARE.AND THE (PASSENGER FRONT FLOOR) HAD SOME SMALL PIN HOLES IN IT.THIS WAS ALL THE RUST ON THE CAR THAT I HAVE EVER FOUND. I TOOK IT INTO A LOCAL CUSTOM SHOP AND HE CUT OUT AND REPLACED THE METAL IN BACK FLOORBOARD AND THEN I SAND BLASTED AND TREATED THE FORNT PIN HOLES AND FIBERGLASSED OVER THEM. THE BODY HAS ONE DENT PASSENGER SIDE BACK QUARTER WITH A CREASE WHICH IS NOT BAD AT ALL.YOU CAN SEE IT IN THE PICS.AND ONE SMALL ONE IN LOWER ROCKER. THE NATURAL PATINA OF ORIGINAL PAINT IS ALLMOST ALL ORIGINAL EXCEPT PASSENGER FRONT FENDER.I BELIEVE THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS THE SIDE THAT WAS SETTING OUT IN WHEATHER UNDER CAR PORT. ALL GLASS IS GOOD AND ALL WINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN. BACK TAIL GATE OPENS AND SHUTS GREAT WITH NO RUST IN EITHER SIDE OF TAIL GATE SECTION.THE HOOD SCOOP IS JUST ATTACHED WITH FOUR SCREWS WITH NO HOLE CUT IN HOOD.THE HOOD SCOOP IS A OLD CAL CUSTOM WHICH IS IN VERY NICE SHAPE. MOTOR: THE MOTOR IS A EARLY 60'S OLDSMOBILE 215 ALUMINUM BLOCK V-8.iT HAS OLD FINNED VALVE COVERS,NEW EDELBROCK 500 CARB,HEADERS MADE FROM ROVER EXHAUST(THEY USE SAME MOTOR) IT IS ALL ALUMINUM BLOCK AND HEADS AND WEIGHS A MERE 310 LBS.IT RUNS SMOOTH AND HAS NEVER GIVEN ME ANY PROBLEMS. IT HAS A CUSTOM SCOOP ON IT FROM RICHES SCOOPS. TRANSMISSION: THE TRANNY IS A SAGINAW FOUR SPEED WHICH OPERATES NICE WITH A HURST SHIFTER WITH CUSTOM MADE HANDLE. REAREND: THE REAREND IS A CHEVY OUT OF A S-10 AND HAS 341 GEARS.WHICH MAKES THIS THING GOOD FOR THE HWY. OVERALL SUSPENSION AND BRAKES: SHE HAS ALL NEW BRAKES,WHEEL CYLINDERS ALL AROUND. THE FRONT STRAIGHT AXLE IS OUT OF A 52 FORD TRUCK WITH NEW KING PINS.AXLE WAS MAGGED AND WAS FOUND TO BE GREAT. IT HAS A VEGA STEERING BOX WHICH IS GOOD AND SOUND. THIS GOES DOWN THE ROAD NICELY ESPECIALLY FOR A GASSER.. TIRES AND WHEELS: FRONT TIRES ARE 165X80X15 RADIALS ON SPOKES WITH ONE INCH SPACERS CONVERTING FROM FORD BOLT PATTERN TO CHEV PATTERN 5 ON 4 3/4. BACK TIRES ARE 295X50X15 ON SLOTTED MAGS WITH CHEV BOLT PATTERN OF 5 ON 4 3/4 ALL TIRES HAVE APROX 300 MILES ON THEM. THE RADIO STILL WORKS ITS AM ONLY,THE HEATER STILL WORKS AND IS UNUSUAL BECAUSE IF YOU CHECK OUT ANY OF THESE OLD RAMBLERS THAT HAVE BEEN CONVERTED OVER THEY ALL SAY YOU LOSE THE HEATER BOX. WELL THAT JUST ISNT SO. THE FRONT BENCH SEAT IS DONE IN TUCK AND ROLL BLACK VINYL WHILE THE BACK SEAT HAS NOT BEEN DONE YET. THE CARPET IS JUST SOME INDOOR OUTDOOR STUFF WITH SOME PADDING UNDER IT TO QUIET THE RIDE A BIT..THE INTERIOR IS NOT ALL BLACK AS SHOWN IN PICS.THE HEADLINER IS REAL GOOD EXCEPT ONE SPOT IN BACK YOU CAN SEE IN PIC THE RIP IS ABOUT 4 INCHES LONG.THE DASH WELL IT IS IN GREAT SHAPE AND IS ALL ORIGINAL. THE EXTRA GAUGES THE OIL WORKS BUT IS NOT HOOKED UP TO ENGINE IN GOOD SPOT.THE WATER TEMP I DO NOT HAVE HOOKED UP AND THE AMP GAUGE WORKS SOMETIMES.I HAVE ONLY BEEN DRIVING THIS WAGON FOR A COUPLE MONTHES SO THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT NEED DOING OR REDOING. I WOULD CONVERT TO AUTO IF I WAS KEEPING HER AND CHANGE MY MOTOR MOUNTS ALSO. THEY WORK JUST FINE HOW THEY ARE BUT I AM INTO LOOKS ALOT MORE THEN JUST WORKING. AS FOR PAINT I WOULD LEAVE AS IS THE PATINA IS GREAT.DOORS ALL OPEN AND SHUT GOOD.COULD USE NEW RUBBER ON WINDOWS BUT THE OLD ADDS TO PATINA.I HAD A LOCAL HOT ROD SHOP INSTALL ALL THE FRONT SUSPENDSION AND HE DID A GREAT JOB.THE SPARE TIRE COMPARTMENT IS RUST FREE AS IS THE REAT OF THE CAR NOWWITH THE TWO PARTS FIXED THAT WERE RUSTED.THIS IS A GOOD SOUND CAR AND YOU WONT COME ACROSS ANOTHER ONE LIKE IT. THE MILES ON THIS VEHICLE ARE UNKNOWN BUT BY CONDITION OF VEHICLE IT CANT BE MORE THEN TWICE ODOMETER READING. LOL YOU HAVE TO BE DIFFRENT TO BE NOTICED AND THIS CAR DOES JUST THAT!!!
