PLEASE DON'T ASK THE RESERVE. I AM HAPPY TO CONSIDER ALL OFFERS THOUGH. THANKS . CLASSIC ORIGINAL 1952 DODGE CORONET SIERRA STATION WAGON! This is a very cool wagon that will be a great car for a restoration or throw a surfboard on it and drive it the way it looks now. The coronet sierra wagons are rare and not easy to find. I have not even been able to find productions numbers for them. The body is very nice and the engine runs excellent. The car was originally "fiesta maroon" and has never been painted although there is more patina now than paint. If you like rat rod style patina, this car has lots of it. The car is complete and also comes with a bunch of extra parts. Here are all the details on the wagon. More pics can be seen at the link below. http://s942.photobucket.com/albums/ad267/tutheck5/1952%20coronet%20wagon/ MECHANICAL: The coronet has what appears to be the original 230 cubic inch inline flathead six-cylinder with fluid drive transmission. The motor runs excellent. It has no blue smoke at all and runs nice and smooth. The carb works properly and does not leak. There is no oil in the water or water in the oil. It runs cool and the gauges work. The motor has 40psi of oil pressure when warm. The transmission is a fluid-drive manual/automatic. This is an auto but has a clutch also. It has low and high selections. From what I've read, low and high each have two gears, so it has four total forward gears. Both low and high work on this car, but I wasn't able to go fast enough to make sure that fourth gear works but nothing would lead me to believe that it doesn't. The brakes don't work so I just tried both forward selections, which both drive the car but they won't upshift until certain speeds are reached. The fluid-drive seems to work as it should, although I am somewhat unfamiliar with these transmissions. There is a way to check the fluid but I have not. It is not quite as easy as a newer style auto and haven't had time. The transmission does not have park and will roll if the parking brake is not applied. This is how they all were new. The parking brake does work on the car and it can be moved and loaded. The regular brakes don't work but the master cylinder is the primary problem, although all the wheel cylinders etc. should be checked. Reverse works fine in the transmission. To run the car, I unhooked all power except the to the starter and ignition. Some of the sheathing on the factory wiring is cracking under the hood and should be checked and replaced before hooking power up the the rest of the electrical system. The tires on the car are a matched set of "cushion-air" bias ply's. They are weather checked but do hold air and would be ok for in-town driving. They probably wouldn't be the safest choice for cruising on the freeway. I have replaced the fuel filter, plugs, points, and drained fuel and changed it. The fuel looks clean coming through the filter now. The tank has been patched before. Exhaust is usable but has rust in the tailpipe and maybe other spots. The wheels are the original 15" with original hubcaps. Overall, the car has no major mechanical problems and should be easy to get it usable for a daily driver. It should have all fluids changed and the normal mechanical maintenance done. A VIDEO OF THE ENGINE RUNNING CAN BE SEEN AT THIS LINK: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwtAIdHyEHw INTERIOR: The interior is in fair condition and would be usable with a carpet and front seat cover. The front seat has the usual wear/tear and needs recovered. The back seat is in pretty nice shape. Door panels are also in good original condition. The headliner has been removed but all rods are still in place. Visors need recovered. Dash area and steering wheel are in good shape. The wood in the cargo area needs re-done. Overall, the interior would be fine for a driver with a little work, but is complete and would be easy to restore to original. BODY: The body on this car is exceptional and appears to be completely original. The patina on the car would be hard to fake and there is no bondo or any signs of any repaint ever. There is no evidence of any collision repair ever. The body is very straight and only has a few dings. There is no rust-through in the car. As you can see from the undercarriage pics (on the photobucket link) the frame and floors are nice. The tailgate, tailgate jam, spare tire tub, cargo area, doors, bottom of doors, door jams, firewall, header, hood, roof, pillars, quarters, rockers, front fenders, dash, etc. are rust free. If you see anything in the pics that appears to be rust, it is dirt or surface rust. I can double check anything for you but I've looked it over very well and used a pick to check for any soft areas and didn't even find a pinhole. The foot areas of the floor have an undercoating type material on the top that may/may not be original but the floors are solid and look perfect and original from the bottoms so I don't believe anything was being hidden. If it isn't original, it was probably applied for rust prevention. The bumpers are usable. All glass is nice except the passenger side windshield is cracked. It is flat glass and will be easy and cheap to replace. All windows and doors work as they should. The hood also works probably. The grille is in nice shape. Side trim is dented up. Rocker trim is included and not perfect but ok and two extras are included. Taillight bezels have pitting but extras are included. Headlight rings have some pitting but look ok. Many extra bezels and some extra lenses are included. Other extra parts include: Nicer hood badge that isn't faded like the one on it, bezels, exterior trim, inside tailgate trim (all there plus extras), original jack, 3-extra radios, visors, and other misc. parts. OVERALL: This is a very cool car and I personally would drive it the way it is now. It is a rare car though and would be sweet restored to it's original glory, hotrodded or restomodded. How often have you seen one at a carshow? A bonus is that parts off other coronet models, and probably other mopars, will fit this car making a restoration fairly easy. The surfboard and racks in the pics are not included. it would look better with an old-style rack and wooden longboard. Thanks for looking and feel free to ask questions.
