The bike is fine but i'm not. Age (75) and health forces me to part with a longtime traveling companion. The bike was purchased new in 1997 from A&S BMW in Roseville CA and originally licensed in California (not by me) Presently licensed in South Dakota (through 3/11) I am the third owner but have put on most of the 121,000 miles The second owner said he had replaced the drive shaft but I have no documentation of that repair. The pluses: Works shocks, Jessie side bags and GIVI top bag, only 215 miles on heads rebuilt by the Beemer Works in Santa Cruz, Tourtech steering stop (040-1312), and hard parts (040-1311), RKA magnetic tank bag, BMW jacket with a bunch of liners, Aerflow windshield, BMW battery charger, 5200 miles on Metzler tires (tourance), a BMW shop manual and lots of traveling experience in Alaska, Canada , USA, Mexico and Central America The minuses: Gas tank dents (no leaks) Looks like it's been 121,000 miles. Front brakes are fading.
