Our samurai jeepster needs a new home. We purchased a SideKick to rebuild, more fun. We have spent at least $1500 in the shop last month to get it ready for Summer trail riding but someone else will have to do it for us. New Parts: water pump, fuel pump, timing belt/cover, motor mounts, battery/cables, clutch/t.o. bering, radiator hoses, entire exaust system incl. Ca. approved cat. conv. and Bonsal muffler, Kelly tires 205/70/15, bikini top, glove box door, center dash console, seats professionally recoverd. Whew.....did I miss anything? The front bumper was professionally refurbished to withstand the riggers of towing. We purchased the jeep from an elder RVer that had owned it for many years. The odometer may have turned over due to the many miles of towing across the country. It was sitting for 2 years till he sold it to us and another year in our driveway. We have only just now finished all the work needed to get it road worthy. Unfortunately we forgot to place it on Non-Op with DMV and fees and penalties will be due if registered in Ca. Also, it did not pass Ca. smog testing because of a part in the carb. [which was completely cleaned by our mechanic] called the mixing control solonoid. If the jeep sells out of State [preferred] then the fees and smog are non existent. Overall I believe the little truk is trouble free and a blast to drive whether on or off road. It runs purrfectly, drives straight and the 4x4 works great. It does not leak a drop underneath, you can park it on your best driveway. If you are out of State and desire a rust free fuel efficent runabout this is it. I can tow or transport it for you for the normal reinbursment fees to practically any State even Alaska or Hawaii, ha. I am retired and the wife loves to travel.
