Vehicle Detail
To start with, I had to make a new ebay id because I lost my log on info, I had good feedback and I am not a new user. Dodge Stealth R/T with a custom red and black interior. Complete leather interior, black and red leather custom seat covers. Black carpet with black and red trim. Power drivers seat with lumbar adjustable support. Interior is clean with a few small blemishes. The car was adult owned for the majority of its life. I bought this car from an older guy and it was always maintained extremely well and it shows. This car is 20 years old and it has NO RUST. The car has relatively high miles but the majority are highway and around the country roads. The car has a completely undercoated body, not over rust or cheaply done. When the motor and trans work was done the underside of the tranmission was painted with an anti rust high temperature paint. The NEW: There are 25,000 miles on the car since it got new rings, bearings, seals, gaskets, spark plugs, wires, belts, timing done, injectors cleaned, transmission flushed, new oil pan, complete borla stainless steel exhaust with headers, right side steering knuckle and wheel bearing, axles, brakes, battery, k&n air filter cleaned, tie rods ends, ball joints. Around the transmission pan there is a high temp gasket maker as a precaution as you can see in the picture. These were not done because anything broke just because the timing was due to be done and the mileage was high so it seemed worth the investment. The car has a 2" lowering kit (installed properly) with stabilizing and anti roll kits. This car is extremely reliable, i dont care what people say about honda or toyota I would and have driven this car anywhere. In January I packed it up and drove to Arizona and back without a single issue. This was the first winter like condition the car has ever seen, not that it was in the winter very long. If you maintain this car it will go on forever, the motor is bullet proof. Oil was changed every 3000 miles, yes even on the Arizona trip. The car is a real head turner, the exhaust has a deep rumbling tone which sounds nice. It has 18" black rims with a red stripe around the ring which are about a year old now. I bought this as my first car a few years ago and I feel in love with it. I washed it two or three times a week, I cleaned it, waxed it, ect. I maintained it very well. This car handles as good if not better than most newer sports cars and I have driven a few including Corvette, WRX STI, Porche 911 Turbo. I liked this car so much I bought another one, the other one was twin turbo and I put a bunch of money into the motor. Sold it for college money and kept this car instead. These cars are not common on the roads these days and catch everyones eyes. The car is a lot of fun to drive, it has decent power. It wont throw you back in your seat like the turbo one I had but it will get up and go. Automatic transmission shifts threw all the gears. You wont find a body in better shape than this one, the paint is original from 1991 and it still looks good. There are a few road rashes and sunfading spots but nothing you wouldnt expect for a 20 year old car. There are no dents, no accidents, the title is clean and clear. The BAD: (NOT SO BAD, Take the time to read or the simple list is wheel bearing is going bad, needs tires, anti lock light (sensor), three minor annoyances not problems) When the motor work was done I bought a new guage cluster off ebay so the mileage reads right around 25,000 right now. There are a few corks with the car. 1) The gauge cluster wasnt exactly what i expected, the tachometer is not what i would call accurate. It jumps from 0 to 3000 when you turn the key to power so it is off by 3000 rpms. No big deal it just needs to be adjusted if it bothers you. Its automatic so it isnt all that important. 2) The neutral safety switch has a mind of its own once and awhile. Usually, like 80% of the time it starts right up no problem at all. Then other times you turn the key and click, click. If you just give the shifter a nudge or turn the key a couple of times it starts right up. I have adjusted it, had it adjusted. A new one cost like $15, takes maybe half an hour to install. Again if it bothers you its an easy fix. 3) The antenna motor has not been connected since I bought the car, it runs but is not hooked on the antenna. If you use the radio you can just leave it up, if not push it down. It functions fine just doesnt move up and down. Again an easy fix if it bothers you. 4) On to an actual issue, the drivers side wheel bearing is on the way out, its not bad yet but it is going. I do not have all that much time to fix these little things thats why I am listing them. Im not going to say its perfect and try to hide them. I decided if the biding goes over a certain amount I will take the day off work and do the wheel bearing. Its a cheap part, less than $50 and it takes a few hours to do it yourself or give it to a shop for a day not a major deal. 5) I think every single used car I've bought I have had to replace all four tires. Tires, brakes, maybe tie rods, or bushings are just things I expect to do. I have taken care of everything but the tires. I bought these rims and tires for my other car and I spent a ton of money on them. 18" black rims with wide 245/40ZR18 97Y Eagle F1 Tires (Rated for 186mph), dont get me wrong they were great tires. The hug the road, just turn the wheel. You get what you pay for I guess. These tires were "Z" rated which was a little over the top thats for cars with high top speeds capable of over 149mph. Now I got a flat tire where I work, I am a mechanic and I work on semi trucks and trailer so I got a rivit end or something in the tire so I replaced it. I found these tires that have almost the same tread pattern as the F1, they are called LingLong L688. They are the same size 245/40ZR18 97W so the only difference is the speed it is rated for. These are rated for 168mph so they are more than acceptable in my book. The Eagle retails for around $200 each, while the LingLong retails for around $80 a tire. Or go with your own brand either way. There is little tread left on the other three F1 tires on the car (wont pass inspection) the L688 has lots of tread left. 6) The SRS (airbag light) has been on since I bought the car, its common after 10 years of manufacturing according to threads online. The Anti Lock light came on as well thats when I checked the side and found the wheel bearing so its just a simple sensor. Any questions you have feel free to ask, I can't think of anything I haven't covered. In the pictures I will point out all the blemishes. The reason I am selling is I am moving to Arizona now with my girlfriend. I need to find a Jeep or truck with a hitch to tow a trailer and go off road in the desert. I am not going to have the extra cash I expected to just buy another car and keep this one as I had planned. I hate to let this car go but I have no choice now. I am open to trades if anyone has an offer. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction in the event it sells. I wont let it go for nothing either. I put at least $15,000 in this car over the years. I am leaving in August so there is no real rush for me, the sooner I sell the sooner I will look for a new car. Thank you for taking the time to read about the car. Anyone with a trade I am looking for a 5 or 6 speed manual Jeep or truck, gas or diesel doesnt matter.
