Relisted due to winning bidder not paying. Please do not bid if you cannot pay. Thank You. 1962 Volkswagen Beetle Sunroof Coupe. Restored to a replicate Herbie the Love Bug. Very original car that was finished in a white exterior and red interior from the factory. Equipped with all three factory options for 1962. Factory fuel gauge, rear pop-out side windows, AM Radio and Sunroof. 69408 Original miles on car. The interior still has the factory original rubber floor mat, side panels, door panels, paint, gauges, radio, and so on. The trunk area has all original paint and fiber boards. The sheet metal and pans are original and the body is a no hit car. I had some chips repaired at a local restoration shop and the painter confirmed this, he added that it was very solid, and a great original metal car. The headliner was replaced when the sunroof top was redone as where the seat covers. The steering wheel had a small stress crack and wear marks from a ring, so it was repaired and repainted by a professional restoration service. The exterior of the car was stripped, coated with a red epoxy primer and then painted with the correct shade of white. The floors where cleaned and POR-15 applied to protect the floors for another 49 years. The mechanicals have less than 5000 miles since the restoration in 2007. This car was driven and all the bugs worked out. An excellent driving VW! Driven on several rallies and to mid-America fun fest three times. This car won an award at the All VW Car Show at Fun Fest every time it went! This car has also won several awards from other car shows around the mid-west. All the glass but the windshield has the factory VW markings and is in great shape. The glass seals and door seals are in great shape as almost all rubber is new. The paint and decals are beautiful. This car gets attention and complements every time it is taken out of the garage. Tires are in great shape and everything works. The car still retains its correct 6-volt system and all the lights, gauges, wipers, horn, windows, sunroof, and so on, work as they should. The previous owner and restorer owned a VW repair facility in the 60’s and 70’s. He rebuilt the cars mechanocal and tuned the rebuilt 40hp motor to exact specs with mostly NOS parts. Brakes, transmission, and other mechanicals where also rebuilt or repaired with NOS parts whenever possible. Recent valve adjustment and overall inspection, so the car is ready to go! I can assist with quality shipper that are licensed and insured collector car transporters if needed. Please send me an email address if you would like additional photos, I have several but no space on the listing. I have several collector cars but need space and funds for a new project. I can be contacted at 314 578 4795. Thanks - Kevin
