1993 Mercedes Benz 190E Sedan 4D 2.3L 27K original miles Local car from new No Reserve Auction Up for bids is this super low mile Mercedes, a 1993 190E. This car was bought new at Hollywood Mercedes here in Los Angeles. The car has had 1 local owner since new, and with its low miles remains an exceptional example of the acclaimed W201 last year made. Finished in RAUCHSILBER (smoke silver), code 702, the car presents very well. The paint finish is OK for 18 years old car with some fading in a few places, hood and bumpers were repainted - glass smooth, with nice depth and gloss. The body has few dings and dents, and of course no rust problems anywhere on the car. The Bridgestone Weather Force tires are in good condition with 75% tread left . All 4 wheels are in excellent condition with only few scuffs and curb rash. All of the trim on the car looks very good. Excellent grill with no flaws. All lights and lenses are originals and looks good. The trunk presents as new. The spare tire has never been on the ground, still holding air from 1993. The tool kit remains in its original plastic bag. The interior is likewise excellent, showing only light wear on the leather seats. Dash is pristine with no splits or cracks. Wood trim is all in good condition. Door panels are crisp and clean. The carpet is in fantastic condition, having been covered with floor mats (included) since new. The steering wheel reflects the car's low miles, those familiar with Mercedes cars from this era will appreciate just how much texture is present on this wheel, as most become a lot smoother from use after the first 100K miles. All gauges work correctly and show good readings, but digital clock is not working. All switches and controls are in like new condition, and all of them operate correctly. The climate control functions as it should, the AC blows cold. The car retains its original Becker cassette radio, a very advanced unit for its time. It works in tandem with the power antenna , but antenna is not working. All 4 power windows works fine. The rear parcel shelf is where the first aid kit is stowed. This kit isn't just a couple of Band-Aids, it's an extensive tri-fold package with a very serious assortment of first aid supplies. All of it is complete and unused. The headliner is unmarked and in super condition. Sliding sunroof works smoothly, including the pop up deflector. All interior lighting works, sunvisor vanity lights both work. For anyone that's driven a 2.3 W201, this car will be a revelation. I've personally owned 3 of them over the years and am well accustomed to their, um, leisurely performance. This car actually bolts right off the line with assertive and snappy acceleration. Gearshifts are smooth and sure, the ride quality and suspension are tight and firm. There's no substitute for driving a low mile car, this is one I know you'll be very pleased with. The engine bay is all stock Mercedes, AAA battery and what you're looking at simply reflects 27K miles of operation. The undercarriage is rust free and original, even the exhaust. The 190E W201 series seem to attract a fan base from a wide variety of backgrounds. Whether you used to own one, are planning to own one, or have memories from buying one new, the sedan on offer here has got to be one of the best remaining examples extant.
