All the options and features seem to work Perfectly! I have had it Fully Inspected and Serviced! I would personally drive this car anywhere without hesitation or worry. FIRST IMPRESSION: At first glance, this Car is a Looker. This car is in overall very good to excellent condition, better than I would expect from the year and miles. The love the previous owner showed for this car is obvious from the overall condition and upgrades. We had this car VA State Safety Inspection and It Passed without issue or repair! We did have the AC system serviced so it is icy cold. With the rear wagon hatchback, seating for 8, and luxury surrounding, this Taurus SES is a Great Car. Exterior: The Exterior of this Ford Taurus SE is described as Harvest Gold Clearcoat Metallic. This is a beautiful gold color with lots of luster and shine to the paint. The paint has held up well and does not show it‘s age. You will find the exterior of this car to be very classy! The combination of elegant color, sporty 16” Alloy Wheels, Black Roof Rack and overall Sleek Lines Make for a sharp looking wagon. This car is so sharp looking without the bulky square lines of most wagons, that I really like it. At some angles, you don’t even realize it is a wagon. So style, function, and curb appeal all in one! The 16” Alloy Wheels are factory upgrades and are in great condition. The wheels looks sharp and show just a little normal curb chew or wear. It is riding on a set of 215 60 R 16 tires. The tires passed VA State Safety inspection. They look very new, and are in great condition. This Ford Taurus SES Wagon is a 4 Door with Hatchback. The smooth lines of this car are very delicate. You will notice that the rear hatch area is contoured to minimize any awkwardness from the wagon rear hatch. This allows the car to have a less bulky stance and be a more appealing wagon. There is a subtle front grille and front license plate bracket. The Bumpers, both front and rear, are body colored to match the gold paint color. You will also find a roof rack. Perfect for hauling extra stuff, this luggage rack adds to the versatility of this car. The roof rack is in great condition and appears to be adjustable. The black finish of the roof rack looks great and is not chipping, not fading, and not wearing off. There is a Rear Window Wiper. I did not think to test it, but I assume like everything else, it works. This car shows some normal wear. You may find a usual door ding or little scuff but overall it is in much better condition than I would expect. There is no noteworthy damage on this Taurus. Overall, the Exterior Condition of this Ford is in Good Condition. Frankly, for a 2001 model, I would personally say the exterior of this car is in better than expected condition. Overall, the outside of this car is in better than average condition. If you have realistic expectations, you will be more than pleasantly surprised. Interior: The Overall Interior of Ford Taurus SES Wagon is Excellent to Very Good, Too. I am surprised at the upgrades and features the inside of this car has to offer. This Ford Taurus SES Wagon Features Light Cream Colored Leather Interior. The seats are upholstered in a light neutral color leather and are very soft and subtle. The first and second row seats are leather, the rear third row has tan vinyl. You will not find any significant wear anywhere inside this car. The interior is a light beige color accented with touches of black. You will find the seats, carpets, floor mats, and lower dash panels to be the medium beige color. Black accents the center console, upper dash and steering wheel. The steering wheel is in great condition, it is smooth and feels great. This combination of beige, tan and black colors looks amazing and is one of my favorite color combinations. Black continues on the gear shifter. The gear shifter is conveniently mounted in the center console. The carpets are also a matching tan color, and floor mats are included too. The steering wheel is black and in great condition! There are no notable issues. No rips, no funny or obnoxious odors. Taking the pictures was a breeze as the interior just looks great! We never try to hide flaws with tricky angles or lighting so in this car, the pictures do not even show how good this car looks in person. There is no smell of cigarette smoke, either. I am allergic to cigarette smoke and usually pick up on any right away and this Wagon has no smokey smells. I would even go as far as to say this car still has that new car smell. The Seats are all in Excellent condition. The front seat is a convertible bench. You can flip the armrest down and create a three passenger bench, or flip the center part open for armrest. The driver seat is multi point power adjustable with power lumbar support. Both front seats have height adjustable head rests and height adjustable shoulder belts. The driver seat is fully power. There are even power adjustable foot pedals. You can seat 3 riders across the front bench seat. There is a lap belt for the middle rider. When you are not using the middle lap belt, there is a soft cover that houses the seat belt. This cover keeps the belt neatly out of place when not in use and is a nice extra touch of comfort and visual appeal. The second row seat is a split bench that will accommodate 3 more passengers. This rear bench seat accommodates three riders is surprisingly roomy and comfortable. The third row is a fold flush jump seat that seats 2 more riders. In all, this Taurus seats up to 8 riders. Cruise Control is conveniently on the Steering Wheel. We tested the cruise control and it works perfectly! There are full power options including Power Windows, Door locks, and Power Side View Mirrors. The exterior side view mirrors are power and adjusted with a control on the driver door. The driver side door has all power controls for the windows and side view mirrors. There are large storage bins in each of the front doors for stashing items. There is a front glove box complete with owner‘s manual. This Wagon comes complete with two sets of keys and fobs. Overall, the Interior of this Ford Taurus Wagon SE is well equipped and in better condition than I would expected. I have not noticed any major or obvious defects with the interior. You may find a small stain but nothing noteworthy. There is a little issue on the rear driver side door where part of the door upholstery is coming loose, but no big issue and you can see it in some of the photos. Every internal feature works just as it should. Overall, I would give the inside of this a rating of excellent to very, very good. Rear Cargo Area: The rear cargo area is very practical and functional. You can flip the third row seat down flush into the floor and use this space for items. When you flip the seat down, the floor board area becomes a recessed and covered cargo area. This is great for protecting items underneath, both from sun and to keep them out of sight from potential thieves, or to store rarely used or emergency items. There is a rear retractable cargo cover. You can flip the second row seat down in two sections if more space is needed. There is a storage areas with a 6 disc cd changer. One issue I notice is that one clip is missing off the cover to the cd changer. Not really a big deal but thought I would mention it. Under the Hood: This V 6 Engine produces plenty of power while still offering great gas mileage. The 182 cubic inch engine offers 155 horsepower at 4,900 rpm and 185 lbs ft of torque at 3,950 rpm. The 12 valve engine is Fun to Drive. The Sporty Automatic Transmission allows for 27+ MPG on the highway. VA State Safety Inspected valid thru 05-2012! Driving Impressions: This 2001 Ford Taurus SES Wagon Drives Fantastic! I have really gotten attached to this car and get upset whenever I have to drive anything else. I continue to be surprised at how nice this car is to ride and drive. Mechanically, this car is in great condition. Not only have I driven this car but so has our mechanic has driven it on the highway and in the city and nothing needs repair. It has plenty of power, lots of pep, and handles great. I have had this car on the highway, around town, and in between and it drives just great! When we got this car, it passed VA State Safety Inspection without needing a single repair. Upon driving it, I noticed the AC was not as cold as I thought it should be so I took it in and had a new compressor installed. So, the AC is Ice Cold, even with the recent 90+ degree days here in Richmond. I drive this car daily and just love it! Performance is spirited — or to some, pleasantly eager — with the six-cylinder engine. Carfax: The Carfax on this car is clean and clear, 1 owner! The carfax on this car shows no major issues: no floods and no salvage title. This carfax does not indicate any issues or problems. Actually, the carfax shows a positive retail value of an extra $90 because it is so good.
