Vehicle Detail

1972 911T RS Clone 3.2 Hotrod NO RESERVE This car is built on a 1972 911T non sunroof coupe with a 1984 3.2 liter engine and matching 915 5-speed transmission. It is very light and quick! VIN 9112100088 I have the title in hand, free and clear, in my name, ready to transfer to the new owner. I purchased the car in Asheville, North Carolina in 2008. My intention was to build a clone. It had already had the rear flares installed when I bought it, so this was the right car for that. The car was originally white, and at one time had been painted grey. I had the bodywork and paint redone in Porsche original Gulf Blue. It is a thorough color change; glass out, trim off, etc. The car had minimal surface rust to begin with. There was rust forming in the rear seat area. This happens when the rear window seal leaks and is a true sign of a southern car. It was dealt with by the body shop when it was sent in for paint. The paint is just over one year old, and is spectacular. It is still in beautiful condition as you can see from the pictures. There are absolutely no dings or dents. On a scale of 1 to 10, this is a 10. I bought the motor, transmission, ECU, and speedometer in South Carolina. It was in the owner’s Carrera and I test drove it before purchase. It had 59,000 miles on it. The guy I bought the engine from was upgrading to a monster race motor and sold me the 3.2 and transmission. I installed the motor and transmission in my car and have driven it 4500 miles since. I reset the odometer to zero when the swap was done. The original motor is long gone. The car has a later model short shifter. Rs carpet is installed with rear seat delete. RS door panels. The wheels are 7” front and 8” X 15” polished with polished centers. Goodrich tires that are in good shape. The exhaust is stock 3.2 Carrera. It should pass any state smog test. Front brake pads were done 4500 miles ago. There are stock brakes front and rear. Clutch disk was replaced 4500 miles ago. I have driven this car on extended trips of 1200 miles and 600 miles, even took it to Hershey last year. I wouldn’t be afraid to drive it cross country. I am selling the RS because I bought a real 911 track car, and couldn’t bring myself to beat this car on the track. In fairness to all, I will not end the auction early, I do not have a buy-it-now price, and there is absolutely no reserve. The high bidder will own this car! The race season starts soon, so please have all your ducks in a row before bidding on this beautiful car. I have posted dozens more pictures here: http://www.studio1erie.com/new_page_1.htm
