Vehicle Detail

I bought this truck in 1978, I was third owner, in Hood River, Or. It is an extremely dependable truck as it was my only transportation until 2003. In all that time my only breakdown was the left rear wheel bearing. This was, evidently, a common problem due to design. But it doesn't happen often and more importantly they are easy to change, which I did in the field with my tools. The only help I needed was a press to take off the old and press on the new. In 1993 I rebuilt another V-6 & installed it. The reason was to have an engine with hardened valves & seats so that unleaded fuel would not be an issue. The 35,000 miles I've listed as mileage is based on this change & it's an estimate as the speedometer doesn't work. I based my MPH on the tachometer & mileage posts & never got a speeding ticket and this truck can break the speed limit. The original enge I replaced is in my garage and ran great before I took it out. Both engines are the V-6 305E, rated at 142hp at 3800 rpm. Its a 4-speed transmission, is bulletproof and called the "Rockcrusher", never a problem. IN 1994 I had the truck painted a teal color called "Seafoam green", it has deteriorated badly but still covers the truck. There is very little rust, metal or surface. The worst of it is in the quarter panels behind the front wheels, and that really is about all, but to sweeten the deal I have new, OEM, in the box quarter panels & rocker panels. The amount of tools and pieces to go with the truck, including the spare engine is considerable. For driver convenience there is a Pioneer KE-1818 super tuner. A 40 channel, 25 LTD Classic citizens band 2-way mobile radio. A Tekonsha brake controller. Plus a tachometer, water temp guage and a couple of speakers up front and a couple in the corners behind the seat. The wood & straps in the bed is new. Straps are stainless steel and the wood is teak. When looking at the pictures keep in mind the truck has been sitting for 8 years and it is time for it to find a new, loving home. With teak in the back a pressure washer will do wonders, a little elbow grease will make it beautiful. The paint will be a different story, a work truck if you buff it, but it really needs more, it's all up to you. At a minimum all of the fluids need changing & after that it should run ok. You'll get a timing light and more to tune it up. I would suggest towing the truck away from here, with all the spares. It is possible we could negotiate a scenario where I deliver the truck, but I'd rather leave that up to someone else! I can't think of much else to add, it is what it is, agreat truck with a lot of life left if it goes to the right person. Let's talk
