Vehicle Detail

Hi.. Welcome to my auction, For your consideration is my 1980 Jeep CJ5. I bought this from the 2nd owner who is a woman. She owned this Jeep since 1985. This Jeep spent all but the last year in Saint George, Utah.. A climate much like Las Vegas. It is a "dry" desert vehicle, nearly rust free, with what looks like completely original paint. The paint is still shiny! This is a base model Jeep..4 cylinder. No power steering, dash pad, etc. Look closely at all the pics, and ask all the questions you need. I am 15 minutes from the SLC, Airport, and in an effort for you to inspect the vehicle, I am willing to pick you up from the airport and bring you to it.. I am also willing to work with anyone locally you may know or company, should you desire a 3rd party inspection.. No problem. Ive tried to take the pictures that I would want to see, but can take any specific picture you need/want.. This Jeep drives, performs, and looks like what it is. Really quite impressive. Exterior Condition: Very nice, original condition. No signs of collision, body panel replacement, or paint work. Very cool patina. Quite presentable, as is. Pics cover the body/paint well. There is a slight crease near the corners (see pics).. No rust through anywhere, not even any soft spot. Most significant rust spot is on the rear panel (see pic), very localized, solid all around it, and body mount under it is solid. Look at pics closely, ask questions. The top is in very nice shape, soft, clear, excellent fit... however, it does seem to have some of Southern Utahs' famous red dirt impregnated in it. Ive tried to wash it off.. no luck. Interior Condition: Not a lot to report here.. Its a Jeep. I have not pulled the seat covers off, as they are on well.. The rear seat does come with it, it does not have a cover on it, and is in good shape with seams splitting. I just removed it so you could see the condition of the metal floors. All lights work. Previous owner replaced windshield wiper motor, but got something wrong, you can hear it turn on, but it does not operate the arms. I believe fuel, and temp gauges work properly. Amp/oil do not operate, but exist. Look at the pics closely of the interior floor condition.. Very clean nice seams. Mechanical Condition: Well, it is the 4 cylinder.. But it must be the most impressive 4 cylinder I have driven in a 4x4. Surprising throttle response, and pick up.. even with those 33" tires! I just put a rebuilt factory carb on it. Starts up and runs great. No smoke. No odd noises. Healthy little Jeep. Shifts perfect, clutch feels spot on. Shifting into 4wd is a bit of a task.. I have another 1980 CJ5, and they seem to both be a bit tricky to get into 4wd.. I have done it, it does work properly once it is engaged... the little "4wd" light even comes on! Brakes work great, especially for a Jeep without power assist. Suspension and steering also feel great. Ive driven many old Jeeps, and this one really drives, performs and handles well. .. again, as it should for what it is, its history, etc.. I would say, if you felt so inclined, you could drive this anywhere.. I really feel confident in this Jeep.On May-16-11 at 10:08:13 PDT, seller added the following information: BIDDERS WITH LESS THAN 10 FEEDBACK, PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING! I MAY CANCEL YOUR BID IF YOU DO NOT. THANKS, AND GOOD LUCK!On May-17-11 at 11:14:12 PDT, seller added the following information: I WAS JUST LOOKING AT THE PICS OF THIS JEEP.. IN ONE PIC, IT LOOKS LIKE THE R/L CORNER NEAR THE TAIL LIGHT AND AT THE END OF THE SPOT WELDS HAVE DAMAGE.. THERE IS NO DAMAGE THERE. ITS THE LIGHT/REFLECTION. THE R/R CORNER PIC ACCURATELY SHOWS A LIGHT CREASE BELOW THE MARKER LIGHT, THE OPPOSITE SIDE HAS A SIMILAR IMPERFECTION.. LIKELY FROM THOSE TIRES! JUST WANTED TO HELP INTERPRET THOSE PICS A LITTLE BETTER.
