Vehicle Detail
GENERAL INFO I’ve ordered my 2007 BMW 550i white over beige leather luxury sport sedan with the Sport-Package at Thompson BMW (Doylestown, PA) through the European Delivery program, and picked it up in Munchen in August, 2006 (the front license plate is a Bavarian one - see the photo). As of now it has ONLY 38,000 MILES on the odometer, and there are absolutely no known problems: Everything works as it is supposed to do. This is a non-turbo, 4.8L naturally aspirated, reliable version that takes you to 60 mph in 5 seconds straight. The car has a clean history with a single owner - check for yourself: VIN WBANB53587CN93777. This car is very clean: It was never smoked in (none of us smoke), and there are no pets in the family. There is plenty of tread left on the summer tires that are in perfect condition. I was the only owner and driver of the car, and it was serviced in a timely manner at the dealer (Thompson BMW in Doylestown, PA) all through its 4 years of warranty and service covered by BMW. The car has just passed the scheduled check at 38,000 miles with flying colors at a local repair shop specializing in imports since 1972. All service records since the very beginning are available and in perfect order. Now that we have joined the empty-nesters group, and after almost 5 years with this car, I simply want to try out something new as far as I can still enjoy driving, and use the opportunity to get rid of the second row of seats that I no longer need... EQUIPMENT & CONDITION The car has almost all reasonable options one might think of for its model year, including: - Multi-function key fobs with keyless entry and start (it is sufficient to have the fob in your pocket, and the door or trunk will open as soon as you touch the handle, which is very convenient). Also, to start the engine it is sufficient to press the Start button with the key fob in your pocket. - Navigation system - A 6-CD changer in the glove compartment. The car is equipped with optional Upgraded Audio System (Logic 7) and actually has TWO CD players: One in-dash (single CD) and one 6-CD changer in the glove box. ALL of them play MP3 CDs. - Heated upgraded sport power sport front seats with memory and an incredible number of adjustment buttons - Moonroof - A 3.5mm AUX input for your mp3 player. Standard features include: - Tturning xenon headlights - DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) - Traction control - Automatic dual-zone climate control with a micro pollen filter - Tilt & telescoping power steering wheel - Perfectly functioning bluetooth phone connectivity - Cruise control, Head Protection System (HPS), plenty of airbags - Rain-sensing wipers - Automatic low beams and power-everything-what-you-expect. The car is pre-wired for the Valentine1 radar detector (not included; the hidden cable is connected directly to the electrical system, and the lighter sockets can be used for everything else). I have been taking good care of the car (we've owned BMWs for quite some time, and have one more in our garage), and to this end it runs and handles flawlessly. It has no known problems, leaks or other stories, and is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission that shifts flawlessly. The clutch is in excellent state. The car is in a perfect mechanical and cosmetic condition, with just several very minor chips and scratches (on the bottoms of the plastic parts covering quarter panels, and on the bumpers). Wear & tear are minimal and below average for its age/mileage. WHEELS/TIRES As BMW connoisseurs probably know, the original 2007 550i w/ Sport Package was equipped with 18" wheels and horrible run-flat tires. The ride was punishing for your bottom, and also for the suspension, and didn't add any sportiness either. Moreover, these tires are very expensive and wear out pretty quickly. Also, due to the incredible width of the rear rims/tires (275 mm), no local shop can unmount these tires without damaging the rims, so you have to drive to the dealer every time you need to change/swap tires (especially bad when you are far from home on a Sunday afternoon). When my first set wore out, I was looking for a better alternative and found it. Currently the car is equipped with 17" Borbet pressure-cast rims and best-of-breed Michelin Pilot summer tires (NON-run-flat, 245/45 R17, see photos), and the ride is no less sporty, but considerably more comfortable. Also, these tires are much less expensive and can be replaced at any shop. PA TITLE ON HAND - FAIR PRIVATE SALE PRICE I have tried to describe the car to the best of my knowledge. Any additional mechanical inspections are welcome (at the bidder's expense; the last one is pretty recent and is available for you to go through), and I am quite confident that the car will pass them easily. I own the car and have the title on hand. It is currently registered in PA through September of 2011. I am ready to sell this car at a fair private-sale price (see www.Edmunds.com) that is considerably lower than what the dealer will charge you for a low-mileage, fully-optioned, ultimate luxury sports car in a similar near-perfect condition. At the same time I am not ready to part with it for an unfairly low price. That is why I have set a reasonable starting point, BUT the minimal selling threshold is close... QUESTIONS You are welcome to contact me directly at glazychev@verizon.net, and I will be happy to answer whatever questions you might have or take/send additional pictures. WINTER WHEELS FOR THIS CAR ARE ALSO FOR SALE I also have a separate set of winter tires mounted on 17” rims with BMW pressure gauges inside for this car. As far as these were only used for two months a year, they’ve got plenty of tread left. Owing to its DSC, the car has very predictable behavior on snowy roads, and with winter tires it has got snow traction superior to that of an SUV with regular all-season tires. (Checked on my driveway; of course, it still sits considerably lower…). Let me know if you are interested. CONDITIONS OF SALE This vehicle is being sold as is, with no warranty, either explicit or implied. I have described the vehicle in good faith, and shall not be responsible for minor corrections to its description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein, and make no warranty in connection therewith. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle and its accompanying documents, and to bid based upon that judgment solely. I will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects or details associated with this vehicle at the buyer's request prior to the close of sale. The Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. Deposit. The successful high bidder will submit a $500.00 non-refundable deposit within 2 business days of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle. The Buyer agrees to pay remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes) within 5 days of the close of the auction. All financial transactions must be completed before delivery of the vehicle. Payment & Documentation. Certified Check in USD. Please be sure to have full required funds on hand before making your final bid. All paperwork will be handled by one of the local new car dealers, who was kind enough to offer me a special deal: They will take the car as a trade-in precisely at the value I get on eBay (less the deposit), and sell it to you at exactly the same price, and they will issue all the required transfer documents at no additional charge. Taxes and Registration fees: All buyers are responsible for all relevant state, county, and city taxes and fees as well as title service fees in the state that the vehicle will be registered. Bidder Notice I will not accept bids from Negative Feedback Bidders. New bidders with zero feedback rating should email me prior to bidding. The winning bidder will be contacted via email after the auction closes or he/she must contact me within 24 hours to proceed with payment and documentation/title transfer arrangements. If the deposit is not received within 2 business days of the close of auction or if the balance is not paid in full within 5 days following the close of auction, I reserve the right to enter negative feedback for the non-paying bidder and re-list the vehicle or sell it to the next highest bidder or another buyer.
