Vehicle Detail
This is a nice clean bike. It only had 689 miles on it when I purchased it in February 2011. It didn't have keys, or a title and didn't run when I bought it. I went through the hoops of getting a clear title, took it to a locksmith and had keys made, put a new battery in it, then cleaned out the carb and got it running after it had been sitting since 2005. Hey... it's a Honda, it started right up. It runs great and looks sharp. There are some minor rubs and scratches so I'm not going to say it's mint or anything, but it's close. The marks on the side of the gas tank, left mirror, and tips of the handle grips (shown in pics) looks like the previous owner leand it against a block wall or something. The rubs and scratched are not from being crashed or laid down. There is no rust on the bike so it was probably stored inside. In order for the locksmith to get the key code to cut new keys, he had to drill out the gas cap key slot to open it (shown it pictures). The gas cap still works fine, it can just be opened with a flathead screwdriver. I didn't see the need to replace it. To the winner of the auction... If you are not happy with this bike when you see and ride it, I'll give you your deposit back. It currently has 716 miles on it and I may take it out again before it sells so milage will be higher. EnjoyOn May-13-11 at 01:08:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Update on this bike: Prior to today I had only putted on this bike around the neighborhood up to around 30 mph and it was smooth riding. This afternoon I took it out on the freeway for a joyride. It starts to shimmy at about 40-45 mph. I looked at the wheel and tire while riding and it looks bent. I intend to take it to a shop and have them look at it ASAP(Friday or Sat). If for some reason I can't determine the problem before the auction ends then I'll cancel the auction or sell it as is. Stand by...On May-13-11 at 11:35:07 PDT, seller added the following information: Here's the scoop... Aparently I was wrong about the bike being damaged. The front wheel is bowed and one of the fork tubes is bent. The shop guy that checked out the bike said he could probably straighten the wheel on a trueing machine. If not, he said new wheels start at $125. He also recommended replacing both fork tubes even though the other one was not noticeably bent, to be on the safe side (just the tubes). Makes sense to me. So there you have it. Do your own research on repair costs and methods before bidding. The reserve has been reduced due to this finding.
