Vehicle Detail
1988 Honda GoldWing GL1500 A AM-FM Stereo W/ Cassete Intercom, Cruise Control, Reverse, 9700 Original miles Very Good Condition. You are bidding on a very low original miles Honda Goldwing GL 1500 A. I got the riding bug after many years out of the seat. I had ridden a friends VTX 1300C and liked it very much. I bought an 06 VTX 1300C and love it, but the wife did not like her seat, she described it as a piece of black tape...I told her I would look at getting something more comfortable for her, and decided on this 1988 Goldwing. My big mistake was I had never rode a Goldwing before and they are not a V-twin, more like a birthing chair. I thought I could get used to it but it just did not happen. I had talked with several people about Goldwing's prior to buying this one and they all recommended the GL 1500. I found this one with very low miles on it and bought it. The bike runs out fine, it is really not a town bike, but really nice on the open road, or as a comuter to and from work with gas prices what they are. I was replacing parts and fixing small things and just decided to sell it as is. As I stated earlier the bike is solid, but does have a couple of cosmetic issues. Nothing serious, but I want to make sure I point this out, as the guy I bought it from did not. This is what I have in the bike. I paid $5000.00 for the bike. Spent $500.00 for shipping. Had an experienced mechanic go through the bike to the tune of about $400.00. I had all the fluids and filters replaced. New spark plugs, new battery, Cam belts were fine, and carbs were fine. Mr. Gary Rupprecht performed the maintenance on the bike, 20 plus years in the business. I would recommend you contact him for any questions related to maintenance issues, his shop number is 641-933-4737. I purchased a Corbin seat for this bike $400.00, I also purchased a Travelcade "Road Sofa" by Saddlemen $375.00, and I do have the original Goldwing seat. My loss is going to be someone's gain. The bike is being sold as is. With some minor cosmetic repairs this bike will serve you very well, again the low miles on the bike are what sold me. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. I don't want to waste your time or mine. Thank you for looking and good luck bidding... $500.00 due at close of auction... On May-10-11 at 14:05:29 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had several questions concerning the cosmetic issues. The dash has sun damage on the right side. I am going to try and get some additional pics, It's a 23 year old bike in very good condition. For the money this is a solid bike with lot's of life in it, as I stated earlier I just can't ride a birthing chair. You can fill it up with $12 to $15 bucks, I'm now at around $90 for my crew cab diesel. On May-11-11 at 20:01:31 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had questions concerning the seats. Do they all go with the bike? Yes they do...I just put the backrest on the Corbin seat today...On May-12-11 at 22:15:46 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention this bike is for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early if the bike sells locally...Thank youOn May-14-11 at 09:49:41 PDT, seller added the following information: THE BIKE HAS SOLD LOCALLY!!! Thank you all very much for your interest in the bike...
