1978 Suzuki GS

This 1978 GS550 runs great. The motor is an air cooled 4 cylinder that delivers very good power. I bought it as a project to clean up and restore but never found the time. However, I did ride it a bunch over the past 2 years and had a great time. It is in very good mechanical condition. I put brand new tires on it last year and they probably have less than 100 miles on them. I also replaced the battery last year. The bike has been serviced. There is rust on the bike but for someone who wants a good bike at a great price can spend the time to clean it up. The bike is ready to ride and everything else is cosmetic. This bike will pay for itself in weeks with gas savings alone! I have not had any trouble buying the parts I needed to make repairs or for routine service.On May-12-11 at 07:29:20 PDT, seller added the following information: I ran the bike for the first time this year and I noticed a very small oil leak when I parked the bike. It appears that it needs a new upper gasket. Something that any average do-it-yourself mechanic can do. I just wanted to make a note of it since it was not something I had previously seen. By the way, the bike started and ran great!
