Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE This 50th anniversary model of 1953 Ford Country Sedan Station Wagon is a very desirable collector’s item. This 8 passenger station wagon is everyday driver and I would not hesitate to drive it for long distance including driving on the highway. It is all original including mechanicals and paint. Nothing is missing. It has original V8 flat head motor which starts right up and runs steadily and smoothly. No oil burn or smoke at all. Three on the tree manual transmission shifts very smooth and without any resistance and backs up nicely too, suspension is very solid and running over the bumps is comfortable. Driver side floor panel needs to be fixed because it has moderate rust through area with temporary patch. All other floor panels are very solid. Rear and front passenger side fenders have couple patches, but again rest of the body is in pretty good shape. Undercarriage and rocker panels are pretty solid too. All doors are solid and close easily and tightly. All original upholstery is in good shape too. Heads liner has a several small holes, but no sagging. These holes can be easily fixed without replacing entire headliner. Chrome is unrestored and hence has some 58 years old rust spots ,including couple holes in the grill, but in overall many chrome parts are in good shape. Car drives straight, has new brakes which work perfect, and manual parking brake works too holding the car on steep surface. Has original 6 volt system. All lights and turn signals work perfect and even dome light comes on when door opens. It has duralumin gas tank, which will never rust and two sets of original keys (altogether 4 keys). New spark plugs and newer tires were installed not long time ago. No wobbling of steering wheel while driving aty low or high speed. Horn works, radio works, clock works occasionally (don’t know the reason), and vacuum wipers work perfect, so no worry if it is raining. Odometer works perfect without any noise and shows only 36,385 miles, all gages: oil, amps, temperature and fuel work perfect. Chock is working. Heater is working too! Please bid with confidence. You can either drive this nice classic car as is or easily restore it to the state of art condition. Thank you for looking at my ad and Good Luck with bidding. Low Reserve Auction!
