1984 was the first year of the U.S.-spec Maserati Biturbo . It has a 2.5 liter, 18-valve V6 with a turbocharger for each cylinder bank thus its name. A single 2-barrel Weber carburetor tops off the engine. This makes it a very quick car. Producing 185hp, it had a good power-to-weight ratio and will hit 60 mph in about 7 seconds, a very respectable time for a 1984. The car is true to the Maserati heritage, providing luxurious accommodations in a sporty package. It has Italian sophistication and one of the finest interiors to be fitted to an automobile of it’s time.
In addition to the standard features our car has an after market Euro Body Kit, front and rear sway bars and an intercooler. The car is virtually rust free and is running well.
Things that need attention:
- The windshield is cracked
- A fog light is missing
- The center caps for the Gotti wheels are missing
- The body kit was left in the original finish to mimic the two tone color scheme of the 1985 BiTurbo-E. The gel coat is peeling and there are some minor cracks. The finish on the hood is faded. Both easily corrected with a coat of paint.
Our low opening bid makes this car very attainable especially since it has such exotic engineering and with such a famous nameplate.
