2003 DODGE INTREPID ES *BAD ENGINE* What you are looking at here is a rare 2003 ES model Dodge Intrepid! If you know about the Dodge Intrepid then you know that the ES models were built with the powerful 3.5L Chrysler engines (same as 300m) and had proved to be more reliable cars than the 2.7L SE Intrepid models. I had purchased this vehicle just last year from a private seller in PA with about 99k on the dash. The vehicle flew threw inspection with no problems and needed absolutely nothing. The vehicles maintence was always done on time and the seller really took good care of the vehicle. I had the vehicle registered on 6-1-10 with 102k on the car. Just three months after in September 2010 the vehicle's motor started making a ticking sound which lasted for about 8 seconds whenever I'd start the car. Just a few days later the sound had became louder and would continue whenever I stepped on the accelerator. I had the vehicle towed to an auto mechanics shop whom after inspecting the vehicle gave me the bad news: The A/C compressor belt was loose and had acctually come off, and the noise I was hearing was coming from inside the engine (Could be broken rod, piston, etc..) and I would need to replace the motor. As you can imagine this news was heartbreaking as my new $5000 car would need a new motor after just three months of ownership. I could not believe the news so I had taken the vehicle to an additional mechanic to get a second inspection only to find that the motor was indeed bad and would need to be replaced. A 3.5L Intrepid engine failing at 100k is very rare and unheard-of as these "bulletproof" engines ussually are without problem. The Intrepid is a great car and I really loved the vehicle. My original plan was to just go ahead and have a new motor installed as the previous owner just had the transmission rebuilt before I bought the car (still have all paperwork). However bills and college tuition force me to have to let the car go.. The leather seats are very comfortable, and vehicles cabin is very spacious, aswell as in the trunk area. The cars paint has a few minor blemishes in some areas but the paint still shines and looks great overrall (Please see pics). The left rear window was the only problem with the car before the motor had failed (likely needs window motor $50). This ES INTREPID is loaded with all the options as: Chrome wheels, Leather, Premium sound system with 6-disc changer, and Digital MPG/Temp displays, etc.. Just had interior cleaned before the motor failed, new LED interior lighting, new Bosh wiper blades, new carbon fiber short antenna, and new custom Dodge logo floor mats.. I have the clear title on hand and ready for the new owner! Car has been sitting for a few months so the battery will likely need to be replaced aswell.
