Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1950 Willys pickup truck. I bough this a bunch of years back to restore but I do not have the time for it. The frame of the truck, as well as most of the sheet metal on the truck, are solid. When I took a compression reading a few years back I realized that the engine would need to be rebuilt because the compression readings were uneven and low. I used to start it up every couple of months but then the starter motor gave out and it has not been started in at least two years. I did put some Marvel mystery oil in each cylinder for the last two years. It has the F4 Hurricane engine - I believe it to be original. The truck is four wheel drive. The floor boards are completely rusted through. The is rust damage on the rear corners of the cab, rocker panels, and bottom of each door. However, the rest of the sheet metal is STRONG. A grown man could stand on the fenders. I replaced the wheels and tires about three years ago which I bought from Kaider-Willys. The tires and wheels along cast about $800. The bed of the truck was replaced with a steel flatbed and a solid steel beam rear fender was welded on. It used to have a plow attached to the front but that was removed along with most of the hardware and brackets. In other auctions I am selling all the parts I bought to do the restoration. If you want to look at those parts and make me an offer for the car plus the parts shoot me a message and we can talk about it. I bought all the steel to do the restoration including the including the floor boards, support beams, cab corner replacements, rocker panel, door panel bottoms. I also have buckets of parts. These are NOT included in this auction so make me an offer for everything - shoot me a message. This truck is obviously not in driveable condition and is a project. You must arrange transport for this - it will need to be flatbeded. This truck is still titled in Ohio as I never registered it. The time to ask question is BEFORE you bid - when you bid it is a contract. I am happy to send you additional pictures or answer your questions. I am hoping that someone will rescue this project. The tires and wheels add alot of value to this project.
