1972 Honda CB

Offered today is a 1972 Honda CB450 Twin motorcycle. This bike is mostly complete, but needs some work and a few parts to make it roadworthy, so I am selling it as a parts bike. It does have a clear title that matches the engine VIN. I purchased this bike with the intention of fixing it up and riding it, but that was about two years ago and it's done nothing but held my garage floor down so I've decided to face reality and let someone with a little more ambition have a crack at it. I have never actually had this bike running, but the guy I purchased it from said he had. The engine VIN does not match that of the frame. The engine turns over easily and has compression. I haven't hooked up a compression tester, but you can feel the compression when you kick it. The headlight is disassembled but I have a box of a few spare parts and the headlight and chrome rings are in it. It seems like the wiring harness may have been replaced, but I'm not sure. Tears in the seat. Air cleaners are there but appear to be junk. Tires appear to be junk. Pipes seem to be original or OEM replacements and are in really nice shape aside from a little surface rust. Odometer shows 16620, but I have no idea if it is even original to the bike. Side covers, tank, and headlight have been repainted. Shifter lever is broken off. Has kick stand and center stand. Bike rolls freely and the tires hold air for a few days at a filling. Handle bars are not original. Left side headlight bracket has some damage. No turn signals. Only one mirror. Toolbox is there, no tools. I think I've covered most of it. It's no award winner, but if you're building another 450 or want a good solid project starter, this one is a good start.
