Hi,OK GUYS.. AND GALS... BOLD MOVE.. BUT HERE GOES. THIS TIME AROUND IM LISTING THIS SOLID RENEGADE CJ5 WITH A $500 OPENING BID, AND NO RESERVE!!!! I MAY CANCEL YOUR BID IF YOU DON'T! For your consideration, is my other 1980 Jeep CJ5 Renegade. This Renegade resided in the Las Vegas area for most of its life, resulting in a very near rust free condition. This is excellent running Jeep.. The 6 cylinder motor is very responsive, and powerful. I tried to take pictures that I would want to see, however any that you want I can easily take. Please look at the pics carefully, ask any questions before bidding. Im willing to pick you up from the airport and bring you to the Jeep for your personal inspection, if you desire.. Or, I can work with your 3rd party inspector. Im also available by phone for a walk around if you want. Thanks for looking, and good luck! Body/Paint and Rust Condition: Looks to be mostly original paint. The previous owner did tell me he had hit a deer years ago, and replaced the grill.. That is the only panel that is not the original to the Jeep, and the only repainted panel that I can see. There is no frame damage or any other damage that resulted from that mishap. The rear corners have a bit of damage (see pics), I believe a paintless dent repair guy could make them look a lot better, or put the stainless corner pieces on.. Or leave it alone. The typical rust areas for a CJ5 are pretty clean on this one.. There is a slight bubble on the passenger side "Jeep" embossed logo, still solid though. Body mounts look great. The pic of the rear tub area that shows a line of rust, know that it is solid around that line, you are not going to push through there.. or anywhere. Paint has a great patina. Still kinda shiny, some paint peeling here and there, and some plenty of marks. Pics show its condition well. Top is in good condition. Back window has been taped and there is a 4" tear up top by one of the bows, I did that on accident.. Interior Condition: Not a lot there. Seats look like original upholstery, and in good shape.. Small hole on drivers seat. Dash pad intact. Cardboard glove box is in poor shape. Look at the pics of the original floor condition. I tried to clean them up a bit, so you can see their condition. Lights and accessories work. Fuel gauge works intermittently, other gauges ( I believe) are inoperable. Steering wheel is loose feeling.. I have not looked at it. Mechanical Condition: This Jeep runs really strong.. Actually it has amazing get up.. Does not smoke or have any bad noises.. Very confident in the motor and transmission. Like my other 80 CJ, it is difficult to get into 4wd.. I have done it, and once in, it works properly. Brakes feel good. Suspension feels fine. Steering, needs a bushing in the steering shaft (see pic), I believe the lack of bushing has resulted in the steering box seals failing.. It leaks power steering fluid. Clutch free play seems excessive, but engages fine, does not slip.. I can see where it adjusts, just haven't had time to try.
