1966 Dodge Charger Vehicle Description/Summary This auction is for a 1966 Dodge Charger. I acquired this car from the second owner. It has a clear Michigan title. When I purchased this 1966 Charger, it was a driving 440 powered car. The engine and transmission were subsequently removed for use in another vehicle. Overall, this is basically a good candidate for restoring. Below is a summary of the vehicle highlights: · Engine: 383 (two barrel)/Not running · Transmission: 727 automatic/Unsure of condition · Interior: White interior/Fair condition · Body: Copper color (repainted)/Rough condition Powertrain Engine: The car came originally equipped with a 383. The original engine was removed some time ago, and a 440 was installed and powered the car for many years. When I bought the car, the 440 engine and trans was removed (to be used in another vehicle). A non-running 383 (two barrel) with a 727 trans was installed (note: the engine does not run). Transmission: 727 automatic transmission installed in the vehicle Rear Axle: Original 8 3/4” rear end Suspension Front: The car has the original suspension. The torsion bar anchors have had some work done to them. Rear: The rear suspension is all original. Leaf spring mounts are original and fair shape. Wheels & Tires: Non-original wheels and tires Brakes: Front and rear non-power drum brakes. Body Outer Body: The car was repainted Copper, covering the original Red. The outer body is in rough shape. There is the usual rust in the rear quarter areas. The right rear quarter panel was repaired at some point in its life. The overall outer sheet metal is in fair/rough shape, with rust through holes in many of the panels (see pictures). Under Body: The cars underbody is fair in terms of rust. The floors are rusty, but still solid. Front sub-frame is still solid, however the driver’s side rusted through in spots. The rear sub-frame is fair, with no rust through holes. Trunk: The trunk floor is rusted around the edges. The spare tire well is solid, and the overall trunk condition is fair. Glass: The windshield is NEW. The side windows are in good condition. The car is equipped with Power Windows (rare option). Roof: The top is original, and the rear window has fallen out. All the convertible top frame structure is original and in good shape. Exterior Trim: The front and rear bumpers are in good shape. The grill is complete and in fair shape. The stainless steel is in good shape. All convertible top windshield header stainless is all present and in good shape. The tail light bezels are blistered but complete. Interior Seats: The seats are complete and original. The overall condition is fair, and the seat frames and cushions are in good shape. Instrument Panel: The dash pad is NOT cracked, and in good condition. The radio is not original. The factory clock is present. Glove box is complete. Heater controls are complete. Console: The console is complete and original. All components are present. Door Panels: The door panel condition is fair. Interior Trim: All the interior trim is present, and in fair condition. Many parts have the normal weathering that occurs over time. Steering Column: The original steering column and wheel is present. General Information The car is currently located in Garden City, MI, about 25 minutes from Detroit. This car is sold as is and where it is. Shipping / pick up will need to be arranged by you as the buyer. I can deliver the car for an additional fee.
