Vehicle Detail
1953 Ford Customline 50th Anniversary 2 door coupe. Six cylinder engine with automatic transmission. All bonestock original and 98% rust free. No major rot anywhere. Solid floorboards, quarters, fenders trunk pan, frame rails, etc. Diamond Tuck interior looks great. Orange Creamsicle motif. Orange exterior and white interior. Interior looks fantastic. Appears to be some puckering on the door panels. Barely noticeable. And a couple of light scuffs on the right rear area of seats. Its looks as though is could be cleaned up. New wide whitewall tires on original Ford hubcaps. Department of Motor vehicles took owner's license away because he was too old to drive. Very dependable daily driver. Everything works except the horn, the clock, the lighter, and was unsure how to get the aftermarket am/fm c.d. player to come on. Does have aftermarket speakers installed in the package tray. Right rear speaker's casing is cracked. Non-oped vehicle... And yes you can drive it home. Ready for car shows or cruise-ins this summer. Turn key driver. Original black and yellow plate California car. Original unmolested condition. It appears the vehicle was an older restoration. It is painted orange which is definitely not the original color. Paint is really nice on most places of the car. Paint is showing oxidation on the trunk, mostly on the right side. Some also along the top of both quarter panels. Hood is slightly oxidized and there is an oxidized spot on the left side of the roof. Trunk is real nice inside. Carpeting looks new, though area that meets the back of rear seat is hanging down and needs to be tacked back up.. No tears, rips, or stains. Original Sears All-State spare tire still intact. Has a couple extra parts in trunk. Extra headlight and bezel along with a few extra items. Car is 98% rust free as mentioned. There is a small rust bubble behind the right rear bumper guard. Small minor rust bubble cluster by inside corner of driver's door and a couple of minor spots along the bottom of the door. Also some small rust bubbles along the bottom of the right rocker panel and some on the bottom of right rear quarter panel. Last spot is a small cluster above the ridge of the roof on the right side. All very superficial. Nothing deep and all fixable. Body wise, vehicle is very straight. There is a light scratch on the driver's door right above the trim. And one ding on the passenger door on the lower panel. Otherwise car is pretty much laser straight. A few slight paint imperfections and a couple of tiny chips, both nothing that stands out. Chrome trim looks really good too. Couple of tiny dings here and there, but overall really good. Missing trim on left quarter panel and on hood as well as Customline emblem on trunk. Some very minor surface rust on back of driver's sideview mirror. Appears it could be rubbed off with a scouring pad. Also there is wear on the right tailight bezel. Inside the glass on the clock is definitely worn as well as glass on the center cap of the steering wheel. Glass itself on the vehicle looks great. No cracks or chips anywhere. There is some delamination around the edges of the wing windows. Both windows roll up and down fine. Also doors are well aligned. Vehicle is an original 6 cylinder vehicle. Engine and bay are really clean. Also undercarriage is very clean as well with no known drips or leaks.. Car starts up every time. Does have a manual choke. Automatic transmission shifts through all gears smoothly. Also vaccuum controlled wipers that work. Blower works, though I couldn't figure out how to work the heater itself. All the gauges work and the speedometer reads 59,580. No way to tell if it is the actual original miles. Has drum brakes which seem to work fine. Manual steering is standard. Both bumpers look really clean and straight. One small rust spot on front bumper near right bumper guard. Front part of grill was painted silver. Is showing some cracks in the paint on right side. Also plane hood emblem was painted silver along with the door handles. Body tag reads Body 72 R Color K Tran F Prod No 16 A-LP109. Also note along with the nearly flawless diamond tuck interior car has a perfect headliner, great carpeting and the package tray is in excellent shape. When the interior was redone the car might have had a dome light which has since been removed and now the interior light switch does not seem to operate anything. Tested all the lights and signals and they work great. The left(driver's) marker light has stress cracks on the lense cover but the light itself works great. This is a very rare 50th Anniversary editon Ford. It has great potential as a street rod or you can drive as is.. Very compact ride with great lines. Car drives well and suspension seems good too. The timing is a little off at this juncture, but the current owner said he would tend to this and make sure it is okay before the winning bidder retrieves the vehicle. The vehicle is non-oped as mentioned so there are no back fees and the owner has a clear title in hand for it as well. Absolutely no trades, please don't ask. If you are the winning bidder please make sure that your information with Ebay is current to where you have a working reachable phone number that I can actually get a hold of you on. Preferably a cell phone. I also ask that you call me within 24 hours if you are the winning bidder. If you have any questions or concerns please email me before you bid. This auction is for a cash in person or bank wire transfer transaction. Either way payment must be made in full before picking up the car. I do appreciate you visiting my auction. Good luck and happy bidding!
