Vehicle Detail
First year issue Suzuki GT-380 Triple 2 stroke. Custom painted by second owner (I am the third owner) at Bill Schaffran's York Road Automotive in 1991. Other than paint scheme the bike is all in original condition with either issued or NOS replacement parts used for restoration. Chrome on top of front fender at brace has slight pitting. Bike runs well and has been on all-day runs of over 500 miles. This bike will draw a crowd at any Vintage Rally or even a summertime Bike Night sitting in a parking lot full of newer motorcycles. Purchased from private storage March 2008 with 4860 miles in fair to good shape after being in storage for 15 years. Engine started after fresh fuel and battery installed. Cleaned and coated inside of tank with Por-15, replaced petcock with NOS part, replaced all fuel lines. Acquired and applied Sukuki tank emblem badges from same year GT-550. Replaced side covers and all body clips with new and had covers custom painted by York Road. OE/NOS embleems added. New tubes and tires, new battery. Had carbuerators cleaned, rebuilt, synched by the master of vintage 2-cycle Japanese bikes Jerry B. @ Cycle Therapy in Cuyahoga Falls. Jerry also replaced the timing gear when it failed August 2010. I replaced all carb slides to correct an internittent stuck throttle condition in 2010. Seat cover (with as original Suzuki marking on back of seat) also new as of 2010. I've purchased my next ride ('99 Vulcan Classic) and it's time for somebody else to enjoy this one of a kind historic small displacement touring motorcycle. This thing is a blast to ride. Very quick, plenty fast, loads of looks and stares. On Apr-29-11 at 11:38:06 PDT, seller added the following information: First year issue Suzuki GT-380 Triple 2 stroke.
