1950 WILLYS JEEP Up for auction we have a 1950 Willy's Jeep. It is registered in my name as a 1950. I have a clean, transferable registration for this Jeep. (New York did not issue titles until 1973) Anyway, I have legal paperwork needed for the new owner. This vehicle has been in one of my barns for years, and I have decided to sell it. We recently replaced the starter, water pump, exhaust system, taillights, fuel pump, and tires. I also had the seat redone. This Willy's runs and drives and can be driven unto your trailer. It will need some brake work and electrical work to make it roadworthy. The four wheel drive appears to work fine. Vehicle will need a windshield as there isn't one at this time. (less wind resistance to get it home!) The windshield folds down easily. I have been told this Willy's would have come with a flat head four cylinder motor but as you can see someone dropped in a newer, overhead cam four cylinder motor before my possession. From what I understand this is a much better engine but obviously not original. I have had both the right and left sides of the body, wrapping around the rear to the tailgate replaced. They look great! Over the years there has been metal patchwork done to the floors. It is all solid from the top, but is rusty on the underside of the vehicle. The hole cut in the hood was done long before I owned it. (Would be easy to patch as I was told by the fabricator who made up the new sides on the body) I do not have the passenger seat otherwise it would be included. We have had fun driving this around the farm recently. As anyone who has driven one knows, they are really neat to drive around in. Remember you are bidding on a 60 year old vehicle!!
