Vehicle Detail
Looking for a good running British twin, but don't want to pay the high price of a restored Bonney? Or perhaps find a good candidate to set up as a Cafe bike? If so, please consider this 1971 Triumph Daytona T100R. This is NOT a show bike...but I'll say that I've never stopped for gas or coffee and not had someone come up and look at it with a nice compliment. It is a clean "rider" that starts, runs, shifts, brakes and handles as it should. As you likely know, the Daytona is the twin carb sports roadster version of the 500cc twin. It is finished in original Olympic Flame and Black. It has some changes from stock: > A small alloy tail light replaces the ugly "Gargoyle" light that came on 71's. > Traditional steel hand levers and a small headlight/horn switch replace the ugly Lucas units that came on 71's. > The front wheel is equipped with a lightweight (and expensive) Borrani Alloy rim. The bike is serviced and ready to ride, with fresh oil, new Dunlop (Japan) K70 tires, a new clutch, and a carb cleanout and sync. The frame and engine numbers match. Please look closely at the photos...there is some wear and tear on the bike. The chrome is good, but there is some slight pitting on the headlight shell, some surface rust on one of the mufflers near the mounting bracket, and fading on the front fender brace. In addition, the forward portion of the front fender has faded paint. I considered a repaint...but decided to just accept a bit of what we'll call "patina". The speedometer is new...the old one was damaged and showed 3450 miles...however since I have not owned this bike since new...I CAN NOT VERIFY THIS MILEAGE AS CORRECT. Sharp eyed prospective buyers will also notice that the tach is a "Grey Face" and does not match the correct black face speedometer. It works fine though... I live in eastern PA, 20 minutes north of Doylestown, and your inspection of the bike is welcome. I have a clear PA Title in my name, and will also provide a Notarized Bill of Sale to the buyer. Shipping arrangements and expense is the responsiblity of the buyer. I have no means to crate this bike, however I will deliver it (at NO charge) to the Allied (Federal Bike Shipping) warehouse in Telford PA. www.funtransport.com I will need a $250 deposit within 48 hours of sale, and the balance paid in cleared funds before the bike will be released or the Title signed over. If you pay by check, money order, or even "certified check" please understand that the check must clear as a deposit in my bank before the bike is released. There is no warranty expressed or implied on this motorcycle. Please Ebay email with any questions. Thank you for looking. On Apr-25-11 at 08:22:31 PDT, seller added the following information: Prospective bidders...this auction ends on Thursday night. Please note that I WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE on Friday (4/29) through Sunday (5/1) to handle the turn over of the bike. Monday (5/2) will be the first day I will be available. My apologies for any inconvevience this may create if your were planning on winning the bid...and perhaps coming on Saturday to pick it up...
