Vehicle Detail
There is nothing quite like a third generation Camaro. Long hailed as the underpowered mullet kings of the F-body world, we feel that these cars have gotten a bad rap. Take this one, for example. It isn't perfect, but it doesn't need to be. As you approach this car it doesn't strike you how beautiful it is, or how perfect the paint is, or how amazing the interior is. What may occur to you is the thought that the designer was equipped only with a slide rule. But look closer. The low slung, long wheelbase calls to your desire to hang the tail out in the wind. The long, sloping hood thinly hides one of the best small block V8s of it's time. The sharp body lines allude to the sharp and crisp suspension and strong rear drive balance in a time when bleek, front wheel drive mush boxes were the norm and the vaunted Mustang had gone to the 4-cylinder darkside. The Camaro stood fast to it's roots. As you open the door, low intensity lighting floods the interior in a ghostly warm illumination, revealing a small tear in the seat fabric, and the cracks in the dash. These are history, told through the scars of a beast that lived at the top of the food chain when it's competition wasn't much more than a collection or varmints. The driver's seat is still comfortable, even though there are years of wear. The dash is something unrecognizable today. There are gauges deep inset into a recessed instrument panel behind the steering wheel. The speedometer is marked with a double edged needle pointing to both mph, and km/h, a relic of GM's answer to the emerging global market. You turn the key to run and there is something striking about the lack of activity on the panel in front of you. No needles dance around in a silly fashion, there are no flashing lights or colorful little displays to light up and tell you “hello”. This car waits. The key clicks one more time, and this beast comes to life again with a bark of raw V8 orchestra rarely heard today. It's 305 High Output Chevy small block awakens and reminds you that there are too many noise ordinances and disturbance laws now. This is what a V8 should sound like. As it settles into a low, rumbling idle, and lets loose a small whiff of gas you should be reminded that the heart of this car is not the electronics and the hard drives and the cd player and the computer. It's blood is not electrons. This car's heart is under the hood, and it's blood is gasoline. Say hello to your “new to me” Camaro, it's going to be a wild ride.We proudly offer this beast for sale, but we ask for serious bidders only. Work out your financing before you bid.
